Like the man said try the reverse parking and see if it make a diff . I wonder if it could also have something to do with how much fuel you have in the tank . I wonder if the angle is steep enough for the pickup tube to be sucking air . Let us know for sure it is an interesting problem........
Well it seems like the woman above you in the motel really gets around . She may have been in New Castle Delaware around Thanksgiving . Her yelling and cussing gave her away but this time at least she was in a room and not the parking lot. Great truck I almost bought a tractor too but, I knew...
I have the up most respect for the Guy on the bike.\, but this is why we have 4 means of transportation. Motorcycle, Blazer, 4 runner and a 923A1. I am getting far to old for the recovery time when your caught out in storms like that on a bike. Oh and I like toys also :)
The primer went on smooth I just worry about Glidden products I used them many years ago and didn't like their results. Of course I did say MANY years ago. Good progress thanks for the pics
before I ever thought of buying a 5ton I called my DMV and spoke to a supervisor. She was able to answer all my questions in about 5 minutes . I suggest you try the same thing ,,,,Good luck
If you have ever driven a big truck and know a little about the SAFETY issues involved then by all means if the truck checks out drive it . I pulled 600 miles and like the man said it is an adventure to remember ..........
Nice purchase I can only hope you have as much fun with yours as I have my 923A1. You may find you don't even have go anywhere they are fun just to work on or just play with. I blame it on my mom for giving me Tonka trucks as a kid . :)
Well at least you didn't have to wait until it froze or dried up to drive out . And lets face it the pioneer tool kit in times like that are ornaments not tools . At best you knew who to call when the crap hit the fan,
Nice build ! I have entertained the idea of doing the same thing to my 5ton . I know it has been done in the military also, because I have seen some for sale. I noted on the military ones they rounded over the corners and I believe the top had a gradual round over on top . Let us know how the...
Thank you Steel for the advice . I will use the converter just to safe . The most sicking feeling is when you hit the start lever and all you get is ............Silence .........don't it suck lol :)
I think that you have the Marines version of the A1, I read where it was made to fit the size of their shipping cubes .What gave it away was it had 5 dropping sides and it was also a foot longer the most . The standard length is 14 ft. So this is the one you will find a 923A1 missing panel...
Thanks for your in put guys . After measuring the pros and cons I think I will let it pass. It is heavy and to tell you the truth The way it looks is the only thing I like about it . If there was a way to use the hubs on a straight axle modify the body and eliminate some of the weight then it...
Very nice job I intend to do the exact same set up with the disconnect . Provided I ever get the chance to, it is raining or my work load is just to heck tic . I like what you said about getting to old :) I SO resemble that remark. On the diagram of the battery cable that connects the two...
