I had a great time and a much needed break from the "big city." There is nothing like a weekend in the woods relaxing with a bunch of friends. A big shout out goes to Walter for helping me to set up the MKT in the rain and for loaning me his spare cot since mine was down for the count.
Not...
Nope, I'm still here...but not often... :(
New job, working around twelve to thirteen hours each day. No time most days to check the site during the day and half the time I am too tired to check when I get home.
Hopefully, things will relax in a few months and I'll be able to get online...
I gave several dead boxes to a buddy a month ago in order to have him rebuild/upgrade the components in them. He works on military electrical systems for a living and thinks that he can offer a very competative refurb business but wanted to play with a few first.
A 900 box will work with a...
It's happening... You can sign up...
It has stuff for 2011 on the site (updated menu for Friday night, updated dedication page for Craig Williams, etc.).
Since the routes and a lot of the basic info is the same from year to year, the page itself doesn't change a whole lot (we may have to...
I'll likely bring the MKT down anyway... It needs to be aired out and it's easier to just bring it and have everything than to dig out the stuff I want, load the truck, and have to repack everything when I get back home... :)
Plus, I need the room in the truck for the stuff that I am hauling up...
Thanks for putting this up, I've recently changed jobs and don't have the daily access to the site that I used to have... :(
Art Swain will be running the Northern Serial again this year (just had surgery but will be back in action in time for the Convoy). Wilf Alexander is heading up the...
Oh, just in case no-one remembers... I'm over in Yellow U5/T9... Back row of the section on at the lower end of the hill...
It's the location of the Friday night BBQ...(with ribs...).
I'll also have my parts collection for sale, and will have stuff that I am hauling up for folks.
I'll...
Doc, I eat small food all the time... You know; whole chickens, hams, hamburgers, steak biscuits, stuff you can hold in one hand while driving...aka "road food"...
I didn't say that I ate small quantities... :)
Gimp, I have room in this vehicle for the blond, brunette, and redhead... :jumpin:
I am making a run from Raleigh, NC down to Covington, GA, on March 31st to pick up some items that I can haul in my Suburban. I may be picking up a small trailer along the way for a buddy... Once I pick up the stuff in Covington, I'm headed up to Syria, VA, to deliver the stuff that I am...
I just sent a PM to Dudley with some thoughts... :)
The East Coast Convoy party will be on Friday night in my area as usual. I have a couple folks who want me to bring up my MKT although I am debating that still... I can do everything I really need without it (BBQ and Ribs with fixings this...
I'm still planning on attending, and can still bring the MKT... The menue looks very "doable" to me. I'll most likely be there early Friday morning (like last year), so if somebody wants to join me for lunch that day that's be ok as well...
Ferro, let me know closer to the date if you are...
You may want to add in a relay to your lighting circuit if you haven't already. I didn't when I first did my conversion (thinking that I wasn't going to be stressing the setup too much running 70/75w burners), but I found out that could easily trip the stock circuit breaker whenever I hooked...
We will be running the East Coast Convoy to the rally again this year... :) The Southern Serial will be headed right up I-85 on Wednesday night on our way up from NC and points south to our overnight stop in Doswell, VA. I'm sure that we can snag stuff from Stampy if needed since we already...
As mentioned, Tom at Snake River has very nice reproduction metal bits for the troop seats and side racks if you need them.
I have the dimensions for the wood pieces on my website at:
Bed Wood
A B1 model would have had the spare over the door, an early model would have had it in the bed with...
I would take one of the U-bolts off the truck with me (or from a donor) to my local heavy truck shop (such as Fleetpride) and have them make up a set of new ones... The local shop here in Raleigh charged me something like $50 last time I had a set made up (four bolts with washers and nuts...)...
Try Alan at Berg Tire in Fayetteville, NC. He has great prices and wonderful customer service. I've purchased a LOT of Michelin 1100r20 XZL's from him (brand new). Don't know if he has any in stock as they don't sit in the warehouse for long...
He also is my "go to guy" for Goodyear and...
Piedmont Truck Tire in Raleigh should have radial tubes for that size tire, or can get them. I also have a bunch of them at the house, but mine are all long stem, same as the ones that Tanner has on his truck with the 1100r16 Michelins in my yard...
I usually get my radial tubes from Rusty at...
I sent this posting to a buddy who has a lowbow over in Syria who performs heavy hauling in that area (used to haul for James River, now moslty hauls for a local contractor) who has hauled stuff for me. I'll let you know if he is interested...
