Looking sharp Jay. Nice to see that I am sandwhiched between folks with tractors/trailers... :)

    1951 M38 Off/On Switch Diagram Needed

It's pretty simple, but I'd have to stick my head under the dash of mine to tell you how it all hooks up, and my '51 is currently on a movie set in VA... The starter is a direct foot push. The electrical switch turns on the juice for the instrument cluster, lights, and the power feed to the...

    Trailer plug

Hmmmm. The plug on my M38 (and on a buddy's M38A1) match that on the M37, XM813, etc., in my yard. I have actually plugged my M416 into the five ton for a trip down the road (long story, and I did not take any photos...). I'd change the socket on the jeep instead of the trailer... You can...

What have you done to your M-37 lately?

Mine is covered in detail at: 1953 Dodge M37 I need to update the info on the XM708 restoration, and to update the transmission info on the Cummins powered M37, but you'll get the gist of things... :)

    Help ID 2 trailers Please

Any of the rims on a duece should bolt right up... They are all the same (both on the truck and on the trailer...). So, yes you can use the wheels from your truck to get your trailer home.

    Slave Cable with a Twist

Ahhh.... Nothing wrong with using what you have. :) I had an end off a bad two pin slave cable on hand, but had to purchase the rest. Used 0 gauge wire and a set of clamps from McMaster-Carr that are rated at 800 amps (part #7178K9). Asside from having the two pin military end, it looks...

    Slave Cable with a Twist

Hmmm, interesting... I've made up a similar cable and have not had any problems jump staring stuff as large as a duece (jumped from another duece or a five ton) although I will admit that it sees more service jumping the M37's and M38's in the yard... Not sure how much current I have been...

    Huntsville, AL to Culpepper VA

I second the question about the owner...Hope that we get a chance to see it especially since I am in the area often... A halftrack would really look good at next year's Graves Mountain Trailrides and Rally over in Syria, VA (one county over in Madison County...). September 1-5, 2011.

    Help ID 2 trailers Please

They are the larger 1.5 ton varient-M103A2. The big wheel for the landing leg and the lug pattern/wheels give it away as you suspected.

Which trailer should I get? How do they compare to comerical?

Hmmm, I see that I need to post the photos of my towing a M101A1 behind my XM813... I had to get the trailer from the farm in VA to a buyer's home in North Raleigh and snagged it on my way home from the Aberdeen rally. It's not the first time, the front of the trailer sits up a tad, and you...

    Under Dash Air Leak Question

Work the problem... :) Start at one fitting, check for leacks, and then move on to the next one. Don't forget to check the air lines themselves (especially the flex line between the manifold on the firewall and the pressure guage in the instrument cluster--it blows and you have just enough time...

    M101, a1, a2, a3

A M101 series trailer is a 3/4 ton trailer. Depending on varient, it either has no service brakes, or it has surge brakes. A M105 series trailer is a 1.5 ton trailer with air over hydraulic service brakes. Just to make things real interesting, there is a Canadian M101 as well that is a 1/4...

    EUCs and our money

A few thoughts... In my state (NC), my title fee is dependent on the price I paid for a vehicle, or the value that the State declares it to be if they (the computer system's programming based upon prior registrations) determine that the value on my bill of sale is too low. So, if GL keeps...

    Welding to a ring, lunnet?

I have a M416 in the back yard that had a ball hitch welded over the lunette ring by the nice folks at the local Forestry shop... They did such a nice job that I have yet to get the thing back to stock... :) They welded around the entire hitch assembly... They had a genset in the trailer...

    MKT progress

As an FYI: If the GFI dies, you can power the inverter by running an extension cord directly to the plug on the inverter, but you have to leave the cabinet door open slightly and you loose the GFI protection... The GFI is a standard unit that can be sourced at any big box home improvement...

    A question for MKT owners

Hmmm, We've covered the stopping issue above. You've mentioned putting nice tires on it so that you can work on them without issue if they fail... Devil's advocate: If you did manage to run over something that cut a tire such that you blow out, or something else that managed to cause the...

Looking for the NC M37 part seller in Charlotte NC area.

I've been playing with M37's since before we had the internet to help us find info and parts... :) Sad PS to what I posted earlier, I learned today that Sid Beck passed away last week. :( I'll miss chatting with him...
