Need more info. Which delco alt and how is it wired? Pics might help. How are you running your 12v accessories? Battery equalizer or 12/24 converter? Have the batteries been load tested, not just charged?

U haul silver not orange car trailer will work but very tight. They will not rent if you disclose hmmwv or h1. You will have to say jeep cj5 or something else in their data base. Tow vehicle has to also be rated for the correct gvwr. Ymmv

The motors are available at any HD parts store that sells haldex. Civy item not mil spec.

Contact Cement might do the trick for you. Sold at most hardware stores.

Does the head have a code letters and or numbers? If it does , sometimes can be cross referenced at parts stores.

If you like the weight, 12 is the way to go. I feel tools actually spin faster and work harder than the smaller batteries Ymmv
