Oh, that's not a new idea, Ahab. He stole that one from me.
But I have about a six month lead over General Hood on figuring out what the cause is. And if I spent more than two minutes per day (on average) on that issue, the problem would be solved much quicker.
Which reminds me...need to order...
Okay, assuming that this is about a SEE, yes, you have to use the control lever to raise and lower the backhoe. The lever by the hose reel, that is.
And there are other things you need to do before lowering it, such as releasing the travel lock and opening the locks at the rear.
To keep the...
Guess I'm just used to motorcycles, and that my Jeep hasn't had a windshield in decades (too expensive to fix after roll-overs).
Between the weight and wind resistance, I'm generally anti-windshield. Still undecided on whether My MG TD will be run with the stocker folded down, a Brooklands...
Sorry, but I can't remember if they did or not. Ridiculously wide for all practical purposes either way.
But 255/85R16s do rub at full lock on the M1008 - except that it's the tire chains that hit the steering.
Oops, just noticed that you wrote scrub, not rub. The scrub is a function of wheel...
Took me long enough to find a photo, but here are some fairly wide tires (36-inchers as I recall) on stock suspension. Stock steering and a Banks cross-over pipe, too.
Not much visible fender trimming, is there?
Also ran 33s on 9.75-inch wide wheels on a 2WD Crew Cab with very minimal...
You can cut it yourself, and weld it back together yourself. That part is easy. But you'll have to take it to a competent shop to have it balanced afterwards.
Also, keep in mind that you can't just lop it off somewhere in the middle of the tubing - well, you could, but shouldn't. Instead, grind...
If by "tight fit" you mean that the drive shaft really is too long, no, that is not okay at all. Should the drive shaft ever bottom out, you'd quickly find the weak link in the transmission case/adapter/transfer case area.
According to post number 1700, they should be a 6TMF. It really shouldn't matter what brand they are (there are only so many manufacturers anyway) but a given model battery should be a certain size.
Then again, tire sizes are nominal, and maybe batteries vary a bit, too? I can look at the...
I sure hope that you mean two replacement batteries. And they should be identical, from the same batch. Hooking two different, or one old and one new battery together, will result in ending up with two batteries that need replacement.
What fits? Obviously the stock size, which is available at...
Yeah, but don't worry if it's one quart, one and a half, or two. Start with one and see if you notice any difference.
You'll definitely know when you've added too much for the motor's liking. Not likely to happen until you exceed 25% or so.
I'd buy a quart of diesel additive of your choice, to use while you make a filtration setup for your used oil.
One I made was gravity fed from a 5-gallon bucket, through a toilet paper filter (yes, you can still buy those). It took several hours on a warm day for it to go through with the...
I think almost any tire will.
It's not the norm that bias tires do better on pavement, but both the Super Swampers and Pitbull Rockers I tried are much better on the road, too.
Yep, there's a perpendicular hole in the pin, meant to channel fresh grease to the bushing surface. It was that hole I had to drill the gunk out of. No Zerk tool would've ever made that passage passable again. Maybe a small detonation would've done the job, but at the expense of the tolerances...
Good point, peakbagger. The trailer brake may very well have contributed to some head scratching when dealing with FLU air leaks. If the cover is properly installed over the gladhand it won't leak (much), but everything in that part of the system being needlessly pressurized can add a few extra...
