Awesome Sauce. I have a friend who's M35A2 blew a head gasket recently so this will be a "Pay it Forward" scenario. Thanks Kindly to Steel Soldiers and SECO. Found an entire engine gasket kit with updated head gaskets for $285 + $20 shipping so I'll toss in a little extra and have my friends...
Truck is cured after changing the fuel filter, cleaning the crud out of the canister, dosing up heavy on some Howe's lubricator fuel treatment (all 32 oz to about 50 gallons so about a 7 times over recommended treatment) and a heavy right foot on some long drives. A side effect is I found out...
@msgjd,
I honestly think that's some of my trucks problem as well. It sat too much this year. I haven't used Seafoam yet but I'm not far from trying. I did put a bottle of Howe's Diesel Treat (not meaner cleaner, just regular) meant for 320 gallons on about the 50 gallons in the tank...
If anyone has fuel filters for the driver's side frame rail of the M809 and M939 trucks, I'll take them. I purchased 5 last year and judging by the condition of the one I changed today, I might need a few more until I get this fuel system cleaned out.
I think ca1517 had just the right advice. I've been extremely busy but found time after Church today to take a swing. Cooler weather helped as well and my truck is advertised on the Church Bulletin as participating in the Fall Festival. Anyhow, I pulled the canister from the driver's side...
The newer M1089's have a round crosstube and use the same adapters as the M984's. Attached are photos of one of my crews M1089A1P2 in the National Guard. I ran this truck for a few years before moving up but it still has the name inspired by Ferroequinologist's personal wrecker stenciled on...
Corey,
I had not even thought of that but now that you suggested it, I bet that's probably what I have going on. I feel like the skip is too consistent in the firing order to be air in the system and if it were air in the system, I would think it would "bleed out" after 30 minutes of idling...
The spade in the center of the first picture would lead me to believe M984 HEMMT Wrecker BII. The adapters for the underlift are the same as the M1089 trucks with the round style crosstube underlift but I haven't personally seen one in private ownership and have seen very few M984's in private...
My truck has recently developed a curious condition. It starts fine but sounds like it's only firing on 4 cylinders. After driving about 30 minutes it's fine. Idling for 30 minutes before driving does not cure the issue which in my thoughts would be air sucked in and stuck in the fuel passages...
I've already got my cabin reservations changed to the revised dates so Welder1 and I will just send it. M923 overloaded with firewood and pulling an M1102 with an M35A2 W/W truck wishing my 5 ton could pull the hills better. Worse come to worse, the Rally get's canceled and we don't get the...
Will,
I know this is a year late. Member Welder1 and myself normally don't look in the transportation needs section but we pick items up regularly for customers. My phone number is 229-894-9868. Joseph
Clinto stated "We agreed to 4-8 November" so I don't think he left it up to debate. I just changed my reservations to 5-8 November and plan on being there unless the other people in my party bow out. I rent a rather large cabin and we split the fee.
Is there any update this week? We're getting close to commit or bail time and need to prepare to turn in "Vacation Time" requests to our employers. I'd surely hate if Durhamtown can't make some concessions and lower prices but I'm ready to roll regardless as long as I know I have some friends...
Clinto,
I doubt you took my post as criticism but I'll apologize just in case. I'm sure you voiced the concerns of the members who regularly attend to the Durhamtown crew. I have no real surprise that it fell on deaf ears for the most part. They are inconsistent on stuff at best but it's...
Clinto,
I think I speak for many when I say "We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes" as it pertains to putting on a GA Rally. Many of us are also aware that Durhamtown has gotten dinged with an expensive lawsuit / judgement that doesn't pertain to us but they're looking to make up...
