Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

Could this bracket match any of the wheel arch holes? It was used to support the troop seats when heavy radio sets were installed on top of them. Picture credit Haney Electronics All M37s had the electrical bulkhead connector in the front of the bed, yours is missing however.

Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

Does the bed floor have any obvious hole patterns? This could indicate a radio rack was installed. Would be towards the front of the bed.

Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

I am a bit conflicted about shelter or not. All shelter carriers (radio teletype or RATT) for sure had 100 amp systems, BUT the shelters had the antenna attached to the shelter, not all over the bed sides. So I am inclined to believe yours was NOT a shelter carrier, but had a power hungry...

    6.2l Rebuild service

Rebuilding a 6.2 or 6.5 is no different than a 350 Chevy. Any close to you competent machine shop can do it.

Need help identifying my new M-37 auction find

Wow amazing, you still have 1950's tires on it, those clips are bead locks that replaced bolt together combat wheels. In the 1960's, the Army quit using those, meaning your truck has been left untouched for a long time. You have/had the 100 amp 24 volt charging system, used to power the radio...

    CCW radio truck

Very nice condition. Mine was orange when I got it. Looks like you got a Saturday with a putty knife ahead of you to remove all the yuck from the frame.

    CCW radio truck

How heavy is the box? The M109 shop van boxes are stupid heavy. That one looks reasonable.

    Hurricane Helene

Hard to believe, used to be these storms had to trundle all the way from Africa, this one popped up next to Cancun and 2 days later WHACK!

Tell us about “new injection pump”. Was it freshly remanufactured? It could be defective if it’s been sitting around forever.

    Looking for a part

Suggest you take the seal to Motion Industries or your favorite bearing house. They can “back into” a part number based on dimensions.

    M38A1 stalls after warming up

When I first got my M38A1 in 1980, it would stall like you are describing due to the float needle getting stuck and flooding the engine.

    Needing tires for M135?

If you already have 11.00-20s on 10 hole rims, just take those along with the tire/wheel assy off your truck and have them swapped over. Need to find a grimy truck tire shop by the side of the road that does old truck and tractor tire work.

    Hello from Illinois

Welcome and that is a nice 4 man truck you got there. Good luck getting the paperwork sorted out.

    Needing tires for M135?

Tires are going on a 73 year old museum piece used 4 times a year for parades. Tires should look period correct with the non directional bar grip tires in my opinion.

    Needing tires for M135?

Dave quote him some nice 75% 11.00-20 NDCCs you have.

    Needing tires for M135?

I would not put 9.00-20s on a M135, wouldn’t look right, too short. $610 is too much for a 11.00-20 NDCC, call around, a good used surplus tire should be $100.

6.2 splashing from the intake when cold

By hydro you mean hydraulic lifter? Sure they can make noise but not out of the intake that I am aware of. Usually popping noise in the intake manifold is due to a valve issue.
