There were two versions of the Caiman, the first was based on the FMTV M1083 and has the C7. Then BAE came up with the (awful) Caiman II which has the C9 along with independent suspension.

Whoa, if your HOA won’t go for a 6x6 deuce, they SURELY won’t go for a 4x4! They will consider it a commercial vehicle and make your life a living hell. Each letter they send they will bill you $75 or some such stupidity.
I'll never forget opening about 30 cans with AOS-895's in them looking for a good one. All had holes in the block. I learned long ago that the Army puts the bad engine back in the can when doing swaps. Wasted two days. The 895 goes in the Walker Bulldog and the Duster.
