New to me m923a2 jack & jack stand recommendations?

I would suggest to invest in a different brand for jack stands, just to be on the safe side. RR ties do work great as well as 6x6's as a counter safety and to crib your stands/jack on the concrete. The HF jacks work fine, I have two and they have lasted me years, even the 2.5 ton jack will lift...

    Oil pressure gauge trouble

Glad you figured it out. It's funny how a problem can be the darnest thing, lol.

    Oil pressure gauge trouble

That sure is odd, but I know many of the deuces had the 60 psi gauge. If this is surely the case, perhaps there needs to be a pin on that specifically in case others have a similar issue.

Will start only with a squirt of starting fluid. Runs great once started.

I would keep running transmission fluid in the fuel for a while, maybe after some time it will help breakdown and clear whatever crud is causing issues.

    Oil pressure gauge trouble

Sounds like the gauge took a 💩. I don't think you'd get any readings at all from the sensor if it was bad or if the wire was shot.

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

I think the others have covered the downshifting aspect of it well. Be sure to read your data plate on the dash that has the shift pattern and the speed ratios of each gear, this will also help you know when you can downshift until you get more experienced. I'm sure though, you find going from...

    Exhaust routing.

That's still 3" pipe, correct? Some exhaust shops might carry the parts you need and bend a new pipe to fit, given you're willing to pay the costs.

    Power steering conversion?

I'd take a picture of and around the truck. Can even check the data plate inside if you're allowed too though that's not a guarantee as those can be swapped by anyone with a plate bought online, given it's the original or even there. If this is a deuce, then because it's had a motor swap, you'd...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2023 - July VOTE HERE!

Got more lights hooked up today, this time I added some unused lights to the cargo bed. Sucks whenever you back there looking for something, it's dark during the day at times and pitch black at night...not anymore. Instead of screwing the lights into the bow, I just used some HD zip ties and a...

    M35A3 tach fixed itself?

Probably at some point during some maintenance, one of the motor pool guys too much in a hurry or didn't care, just did the job to get it done and sent the truck on it's way. I'm actually surprised the flywheel didn't break that sensor earlier.

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2023 - July VOTE HERE!

To start, I changed up a few things. Took all the white lights on my light bar off. I rarely used them, I just prefer the amber lights , plus I was able to consolidate some previously used switches for other modifications I will use. With the Amazon Primeday not long ago, I ordered some led...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2023 - July VOTE HERE!

Man...this is gonna be a tough month. Lot of nice trucks to compete with...some of us are gonna have to campaign our butts off to persuade our peers, lol.

    M35A2 starting issues

Pitpawten had it right, only thing I'd add, check the battery wires, if you can see copper, check for any corrosion, sometimes you have to peel the insulation back a little to make sure. I had that issue not long ago and when I attempted to start the deuce, it just clicked then I had nothing...

Bobbed M35 turn signal and hazard issues

That's not normal, everything on that switch should be a little stiff and require deliberate movement by you. I'd suspect that switch and replace it. Worst case scenario, it's not the issue and you have a spare and if you keep that truck for a long time, chances are you'll be needing it. Did...

My son found this HMMVW parked in a drivway in TX. Unusual

I'd have a purple/pink/black camo truck if it got my old lady to drive it and enjoy the "green underneath" iron hobby, 🤣

Need Help, Brand new to the Deuce!

I imagine the TM says that due to heat build up in the starter. I won't disagree with it, but I doubt most people actually count rather going off what feels like the time they think passed. Then again, sometimes the multifuels need to build up heat in the combustion chambers when it's been a...

Bobbed M35 turn signal and hazard issues

Definitely appears they did some of their own custom wiring, so I think you did the right thing by emailing them on it. The directional control on the steering column should be nice and tight, not loose at all.

Need Help, Brand new to the Deuce!

More so it cranks for over 5-8 seconds to start with a warm/hot engine and over 15-20 seconds or more (depending on conditions/temp) on a cold engine. It can vary from person to person on their opinion of a hard start, but not every deuce starts with just a push of a button, especially if...
