Thanks for the reply. I will check more in depth tomorrow. There is bad weather here tonight. The pedal has always felt a bit stiff, but not gritty. Time to go back over my L.O.
I'm sure this isn't the first time this question has been asked. My 72 Deuce has the LDT 465-1C. It normally starts, idles, and runs very smooth. Today I went out to start her up, and she fired up instantly. I noticed that the rpms were a little high, at around 850-900. I let it idle for a few...
My M35A2 is a 1972 model that was overhauled in 1987. The odometer reads just over 46K. That doesn't really tell me much. From what I've read, odometers, hour meters, and even engines were swapped out as needed. Sometimes with used units. So my engine could have way less than 46K or it could...
Sounds like a good truck. I would take a good look at the brakes. Any leaks around the wheel cylinders, rubber hoses, master cylinder or air pack? Does it build and hold air pressure? The heater, IMO, isn't a big deal. My truck has one, and it does work, but the amount of heat is negligible...
Welcome, from north Alabama! You came to the right place for information on MVs. As Mullaney said, the turbo wasn't added to gain power. It is more to clean up the smoke. My 72 Deuce has a "C" turbo. I like the sound, but I have heard that some folks get tired of it.
I second the request for...
The gas pump is a popular spot for sure. It's still fairly new to me so I don't mind the questions at all. I especially love when military veterans come up and share a story or two. As for the Priuses, I just pick them out of my treads when they build up 🤣
Welcome to the forum. And congrats on your truck. I know very little about CUCVS, but from what I've read they are great fun. I just might own one myself one day (my Deuce looks kinda lonely out there) so I look forward to learning from your experience. Glad you're here.
Sounds like you have a good plan. I drove my Deuce home with zero issues, but it was a much shorter trip. Only about 250 miles. Wes (@simp5782) travels the interstates a lot, and probably has good advice about weigh stations, etc. Good luck to you!
