Quick verification question: Is it just the front hubs that have separate reservoirs and not the rear? Or are there hex/Allen drain/fill plugs on the rear as well?
Thank you for giving the required tool to check those front hubs. Putting that on the mandatory checkout list as I read the death of hubs thread where they were dry for a recovery.
Lmtv772,
Just curious how things are arranged in there as well as potential routing of wiring through the plug above the air controls for a custom switch and radio box. Would also like to see how the heater core is plumbed and fan setup.
Thanks!

By the way today's auction was a bloodbath but...
tmburk49760,
Sorry to hear your having a lot of gremlins on the LMTV... Any chance you took some pics of the heater box when you took it apart?
Thanks!

Is this the correct solenoid behind the kick panel?
PARKER 8204 0459-45 24V-DC SOLENOID VALVE D445718
I got it off another thread and have the valve as a "carry a spare in the toolbox" item.
From what I have seen on *Bay prices are not going up. None of the guys selling LMTVs can get over 10k... and quite a number of them are selling at the 7k to 8.5k range outside of *Bay once the auction ends. Although prices I have seen on GP are in the 7.5k to 11k range for standard M1078s...
Nice pics...
19E, I was in the last Army basic training (OSUT) unit to be trained on the old dinosaur M60A3 back in September of 88' at Ft. Knox.
Brings back memories....

Thanks again for the further detail Duckworthe.
I am putting this issue down as a potential item to happen at any time and it sounds like no advanced warning and not detectable at PMCS.
I was doing some reading on a commercial trucking forum this morning where they pointed out that the power...
Thank you Duckworthe for the info. Did your truck have air issues at pickup? I read your original post and it sounded like the pump just gave out on the recovery drive.
Sorry for all the questions but have two more...
The nut you are referring to I am assuming it's part of the belt or pulley...
Can you explain a little more about where the "Spur gear nut" is on the air compressor? Is it visible from just looking at the air compressor installed on the LMTV or do you have to remove it or any guards, accessories?...
Just collecting data on "things to check" and wanted to know if this is...
Thank you for the descriptions. So it's just a little storage box basically.
Still would like to see some pics of that area behind the cab around the spare tire and between the spare across to the battery box.
Lots of pics out there from almost ever angle of the LMTV from GovPlanet and posts here except the toolbox and area behind the cab as viewed from behind the cab...
Can someone post a few pics of the toolbox both inside and looking at it from the cab back as it site under the spare tire with the...
Ok excellent. So jumper wire for emergency bypass on a bad relay and get a bulk pack of just the 5 point SPDT relays and have both 12v and 24v versions.
Thanks Superman. Building an emergency repair and recovery LMTV kit in preparation of actually winning one at auction.
Wish there was a...
Tracking down relay part numbers.
Looking at an old thread with PDF of power distribution panel it looks like the 12v relays are standard Bosch style SPST 4 pin and SPDT 5 pin... is that correct?
I just past one up on -bay a few months ago. I spot about two a year so I will keep my eyes open. Hey that would be a unique Forum to have kind of a pay it forward watch list where folks watch for a particular thing for someone else and not swipe it :)
Cheers!

Dalej,
Nice mods. Could you post up the hitch specs?... Still waiting to snag an LMTV from the auction. Lately the prices on GovPlanet have been north of the stupid range.... Wish some of the hobby buy low sell hi guys would let us "just want one" folks get a shot.
Front brush guard looks...
OK got the lowdown on Ft. Campbell GovPlanet. Pickup days are Thursday's and Friday's. They have a dock and a forklift for any load assistance at pickup.
Looks like I have already been outbid before the actual auction start so probably will not need the transport but would still like a ballpark...
