    M1070 recovery

Oh, Man!!! I just caught up with this thread and really feel for you guys. Glad everyone is OK. The only recommendation I can make is not to discuss the particulars of the accident itself on a public forum. Just say a truck rear-ended you, everyone is OK and here are the photos. Anything...

Fifth Wheel Trailer Tow Dolly Handling ? 5 ton needs work?

Backing the dolly isn't too awful if you go really slowly and are experienced backing short trailers. To get that experience if you get a dolly, take it to an empty parking lot and practice backing into painted spaces to get a feel for it (use a spotter not to guide you, but only to keep you...

    So this just happened...

Glad you got it out. I did a rain dance to send some water your way to help clean. It'll probably get there after you're finished, since my timing isn't what it used to be.

    So this just happened...

Mike, Just read of your stuckness. I've got a fang yanker appt. after lunch, but I could come get you later this PM with my M925. If that doesn't work, I can hook the wrecker to the M925. Where are you stuck?

Tried the $35 WalMart LED light kit yet?

My Tractor Supply brand is Blazer 12v LED lights, but I made a civilian/military tow light set with some scrap angle iron from a round bale feeder the horses destroyed. Even though it stated 12v and not multivolt, it has worked fine for over 9 hours (440 miles) of travel, and about 6 hours was...

    M939 Series Hood Insulation

The engine coolant temperature is what the gauges measure. Temperatures in the engine compartment, especially the exhaust manifold, may be a couple of hundred degrees higher. At work, our water-cooled natural gas compressor exhaust temperature is normally 600-700 F, but I've never measured a...

Recovery of my Deuce, weekend of May 31 and June 1

Congrats on the new truck and safe trip. Looks like a great truck! You have already driven it more than most owners will in a year. :driver:

M818 disengage front drive like 939 series.

The Sprag front drive only engages if the rear wheels are spinning at different speeds than the front. It's not full-time all wheel drive.

    CSM Davis recommends

Found them called Push-Loc fittings at DieselManor http://www.dieselmanor.com/dm_products/fittings_pl.asp

    CSM Davis recommends

The push on fittings Jeff mentions look like this and need no hose clamps if used with "lok-on" type hose. My M931A2's have them, as well as an M818 that was rebuilt around 2011. Photo is a Dixon 287 series, but don't know if this is what is on the trucks.

    Sabatoge or Stupidity

Those look like oil sorpant pads that someone put in the pan so there would be no residual drips from a drained tranny. After you removed these pads, did you try the tranny again? It may not have been ruined. Edit - Stonepicker beat me by a minute.aua
