I cover my 4 man soft with a fitted H1 open back cover. I leave the tailgate all the way down so water runs out the back. It works very well to keep things inside dry, is easy to put on and remove as well.

The GEP blocks have a different casting number order. GM blocks are (ex) H217, GEP block number (on the rear pass side) would look like 11 21 J, ( Nov. 21, 2002)

Not sure, but one of my turbo drive lines has a GEP block cast in late 2003, with a transfer case that has a 1996 tag on it. And it absolutely came out of an ECV chassis. I think the combinations and anomalies are endless. Only Ted G., Steve and Greg can make any sense of them.
