Well I had my doubts but I have to say that GP has resolved this matter to my satisfaction. Kudos to all involved, especially Jwade who obviously has tremendous influence there. Now begins the EUC wait.

Spoke to a very nice, albeit1st level customer service fellow, who's only resolution was to regurgitate the corporate line, "buy or pay the default fee". Not so much of a resolution so far. He's checking with his bosses and will call me back.

Ok, that actually makes sense and its something i never noticed. The pics are gone on the unsold stuff too though. I completely understand everyone is busy, BUT, GP has me on a 3 day pay or be penalized leash, so time is of the essence.

Not including the drive train, I've probably got another $3500 in harnesses, drive shafts, shifter, switches, brake pedal, fuel tank & hardware, etc., etc., etc. There are some great threads out there on this conversion, both here, (Ted's build is like my bible for this project)...

I think you misunderstand. Not asking when they will come up for auction. Asking when they first went into production.

Yes, you would think so, but I did, and it is not so clear. Best I can tell is 1996 so far. But that seems early to me. Did they turbo non-optimizer engines? My understanding from what I've found is the Optimizer makes its first appearance around 2000 or so. Also not verified.
