There’s usually a little bit of slack on each side of the J7/P7 connectors from what I’ve seen. So even after cutting off the original pins, you shouldn’t have any problem with having enough wire to repin and reinstall into the connectors. You may need to cut some of the zip-ties to pull the...
I believe like the others…the last resort would be to bypass that connector. I have purchased the pins that Klopp is referring to, both male and female. I didn’t have the correct crimping tool to secure the pins to the wires. So I carefully used a small needle nose pliers to crimp them, then I...
If that's a cam bushing, I found part #751-10950 listed on page 20 & 21 of the Lister Petter master parts manual. It's listed as "gear end" but I see no other part number for the remaining (3) cam bushings.
It looks like a cam bushing since it's one piece. The main and rod bushings are of coarse two pieces. But, none the less a better description of what we're looking for may get us better direction here on this forum!
IDK? I came up to the shop this morning with a cup of coffee to check out the high temp fault. I reinstalled the fault indicator that I bench tested last night and flipped on the S1 power switch. Guess what? No high temp fault light! The unit was mostly cooled down last night when that fault...
That's good to hear! I hope you don't mind me asking what the outcome was on this. I absolutely love this forum. But sometimes we don't get to hear the end result of the fixes. I like to log these events into my memory bank (as long as it's working!) and use the information for later. Good job...
Just reading some past forums. How did you do with this DN2M engine rebuild? It sounds like you were just rebuilding the head the last time we heard from you. I hope it runs like a top!
I would name that machine “Christine.” This is my first MEP-831A . I’ve had several of the 5kw’s, 10kw’s, 15kw’s and a couple of the 30kw units go through my hands now. I’m willing to bet that these little 3kw’s can be a little more finicky to work with. I managed to donate a little skin from my...
I'll stop short of commenting on the wiring schematics in TM 9-6115-639-13&P. I finally found them way in the back on pages 581-591. (Thanks to fb4) I'll just say that I'm used to the awesome schematics in the other 8XX series and leave it at that! But, I think that I found what I'm looking for...
Interesting. Out of the blue I now have a high engine temp fault. This engine has only two switches on it. The one closest to the oil filter is the low oil pressure switch. (I disconnected it with S1 in the run position and the low oil fault did not illuminate) So the one on the rear of the...
Cool! I’ve learned a lot about these MEP-831A 3kw units. It’s all adjusted and making good power. I was able to load it down and it performed great! Someone mentioned in another thread that they use a couple of small lawn mower batteries in their unit. I went ahead and purchased a couple of...
