Installing an M35A3 aluminum fuel tank on an M35A2

Easy switch over. Did it a couple years ago. No regrets. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

guesses on handling characteristics in ice, snow, normal alaska road conditions...

Wow, that sounds unpleasant. A few thoughts. When you switched to the big radials, did you correct the front toe in and camber as recommended? Many members reported that this makes for a much more stable front end. The speed sounds awfully low, especially with the tall rubber. Did the transfer...

Do you mean the one on the passenger side under the glove box? Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    11 gallons of oil?

Read a few threads...its 3 o rings for the shutoff and hydraulic head. And delete flame heater.... I agree with Frank but would do the above before I run the truck with new oil. You do not want $100 worth of oil get diluted again. That way, at least you addressed the most likely causes. If it...

    11 gallons of oil?

Search for Deuce making oil. Likely culprits include the flame heater for cold starting and the injection pump hydraulic head o-rings. The diesel fuel thins out the motor oil, causes seals to leak and drastically reduces the lubricity of the oil. Damage will follow. Sent from my SM-G950W...

    Canadian MLVW wheels

They will "fit", they will also look odd (small diameter tires on relatively wide wheels) and I would not waste my time with 9.00-20 on rims as nice as these. At the very least, get some takeoff 11.00R20 or 12.00R20, maybe from someone that upgraded to super singles/MRAP tires. Al least you...

    Questions after crawling under it.

The steering column looks like the Spicer part that Waterloo supplied with his power steering setup. In that case, the box is where the horn wire comes out. It should connect to the single wire running to the horn air solenoid. You can replace the horn button on the steering wheel with the new...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I...HATE...LEAVES...!!! On the grass I mulch them with the little tractor, but around the house I have to rake the b@stards. And usually the wind picks up when I rake. Go figure. At least I am down to filling some 20 lawn bags, from 70 or so at the last go around. Things are improving.

    Please identify this engine part

Congratulations, you found the pump for the flame heater. Unless you regularly start the truck well below freezing temperatures, you do not need it. Search for flame heater removal. Basically, plug its fuel lines at the injection pump and remove the whole kit. It is a good system when it...

    M35A2 Air Compressor Bottom Seal

Has been a while but I think I just angled it. In a w/w truck the rad has less room to tilt forward than in a wo/w. I don't remember details so it probably worked. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

You are not kidding when you say that axle took a beating. One assumes it happened during active service? I wonder why they didn't simply swap an axle in. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

It is this time of the year again....Queen Lola went into her winter hibernation quarters. Dry and semi-heated. We had a dump of snow last week, just so we would not forget what is about to come. Lola is a Southern Belle, has never really been in the winter and I am not going to get her all...

    Resources for identifying low bridges?

The McNally Trucking Road Atlas 2020 is purely analog and has all the info you are looking for. Especially for a one off trip, analog ain't that bad. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Drive axel gear ratio

The transmission OD kit is no longer available. You could go to a web site that calculates gear ratio and speed, including tire size, and see how much switching to taller tires would help your goals.

    my new m35a2

I had a similar experience. Installed brass hose barbs in place of the axle vents, ran a clear plastic hose up to the bed crossmember or firewall for front axle, terminated hose with a cheapo small engine fuel filter, and presto. No more stupid sticking axle vents....and better water proofing in...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I did another 70 mile round trip into the big City to pick up an aluminium car port at a warehouse. 12 ft long box, some 600 lbs. No problem...and the tail gate closed! At least this time it was not pouring rain, which made for a much more fun drive.

Another MV for my daughters inheritance

You did well! That canvas you made looks sharp! I admire people that can do that.

    my new m35a2

It prompted me to refresh my memory and indeed, there was a REB kit made by Memphis Equipment which removed the sprag overrun by using gear wheels with more teeth and adding the manual engagement: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/reb-kit.13496/
