Anyone know what the regs are for Virginia? I'd like to snag a M923/925 at the prices they are going for, don't intend to haul a semi trailer or anything except pintle-hitched trailers behind it, don't know what things are like here , especially if I plan on using Vintage/Historic tags like I...
It's a fairly rare bird now, after 45 years of age. The missing parts are out there - if the engine no longer is there I'd recommend an upgrade to a Cummins 4BT or 6BT, either will fit up front, that will solve the underpowered problem with this rig. Make sure it finds a home, the -715 series...
FYI - Shawn Coleman is in a hurry to clean out his remaining deuces - as trucks OR AS SCRAP. So trust me, he's flexible, and if you need parts I'm sure one of the other ones in back can provide a replacement if you need one.
I don't think it did, looks like it was a commercial trailer purpose built for moving the M105 trailer in bulk. See the "pads" on the second level, where the tires are sitting? Those look like they were only put there because of the unique placement of a bunch of M105 trailers in "tilted"...
...and don't know how to get them all home, looks like someone back in history has figured out how to, at least in this case, bring home 9 M105 trailers at a time without breaking a sweat!
BTW - the main difference between the old single-wheel landing device, and the newer dual-wheel, is that the newer one is adjustable for height. The old one is one-height-fits-all, and if you're unhooking the trailer on unlevel ground, you may have to have a friend or two help lift the lunette...
There should be a handle on the back end of the wheel caster assembly. looks like a bent "U". Grab it and yank outward on it, should unlock the wheel assembly, it will swing down, and if completely folded down, the "handle" will clink back into place to securely hold the landing wheel in the...
I highly recommend you fellas rename it the Georgia Mafia. If you keep running around calling yourselves the Ga Mafia, I think you might have a nasty visit from some actual Mafia members who would like to have a word with you and your Ga friends.
Maybe for one or two of them, you might be right. That one on the left looks somewhat like a WWII van trailer, but smaller. Last one, the "tank trailer" is definitely military, probably started life as a M105 cargo or M149 tank trailer, and had the body replaced with that weird tank thing...
I've never seen military trailers like those. They look like small-contract, special-purpose items. Probably 1940s-1950s from their "look". Did you happen to get close and see if they had any data plates?
I had a M134 minigun parts kit several years back, all the parts except the receiver housing. Cost a pretty penny to assemble the package, and sold for same. I wish you well in your dummy gun build, I've seen a few half-assed replicas and they just didn't look right. It's a complex design to...
