    M1031 Build Thread

If you were to go the ambulance path that Skinny mentioned, this thread has valuable information on the install. Chevyc60 posted on there and he did my ambulance when I had it. Charging was never an issue in the 6 years I owned it. I think this would be the most robust way to accomplish...

    M1031 Build Thread

That cab and chassis rear would turn your SECM into a nice looking dually. You already have 6 rims.

    Newest CUCV equivalent?

He hasn't signed on since January of 2020 but looking at his profile I realized he had 4 CUCV IIs

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Wow, talk about the "Mans" kitchen. I love it.

    BFR's Floozy

If it was an Equinox you saw, it might have been me. Gainesville is the big city I go to most often so I'm in Cleveland somewhat frequently.

rear axle.. always seem to be favoring driver side

While I can't give you exact dimensions, there needs to be space for the axles to twist around the spring so movement from side to side is normal. Looking at the truck from the rear, you will see the little box shaped area where the leaf spring rides. The leaf spring stays flat in there, during...

    Newest CUCV equivalent?

There is a member here who has 3 (IIRC) CUCV IIs and an LSSV. He might be why few others can get them.

Were your new alternators isolated ground units?

5ton dump truck - mud flaps

My dump arrived here with one missing. I am contemplating using conveyor belt material which I already have.

    Not your regular Bobbed 6x6

At least you have a tractor, it's fairly short. My dump truck is the same wheelbase and you can tell it's teetered at least once.

    Not your regular Bobbed 6x6

Have you had a chance to give it a good looking over? Do you think it's feasible to shorten the wheelbase any further?

    BFR's Floozy

Wow Joel, welcome back. Can't wait to see this work.

    Flipping hubs

Here is what you end up with. I think it looks a little funny but its correct. With that said, there are lots of folks running rims the way you are. As long as your not killing it with weight, you should be okay.

    Flipping hubs

If you are running stock rims with the inside rim off the truck, you are putting some additional wear on those bearings. I'm not sure that a narrower rear footprint makes much difference in ease of turning. If you flip the hubs and reverse the rims you will be placing the load directly over...

    Flipping hubs

What rims are you running? It has everything to do with hubs.

    Not your regular Bobbed 6x6

The guys on here were all but certain that a regular truck couldn't do it on a tow bar. No mention of trailer ever happened.

    Not your regular Bobbed 6x6

Yeah, that's hotshotable. There are guys with the 4500 and 5500 truck towing up around 25,000. WO/W M52A2 is only 17840#

    just took in a m101a1

I have one of these bolted to one of my pintle hitches. Once I put the pintle in the receiver I just plug in the pollack connector into the truck and plug the trailer into the plug on the pintle.

Lookkng for advice on M1009 replacement dual exhaust system

Whew, the muffler business can be exhausting! Sorry, from my days in the business. I've found that now-a-days, exact fit parts aren't very available. The large chain I worked for in the first half of the 80's had lots of parts on hand. We also had a bender card system and could bend up parts...
