pulled my post out of another thread so not to hijack the one on two batteries.
some background..... Thought my alternator was going/went out... but I was stuck ... I HAVE to drive truck everyday right now to get to work and weather/health is forcing me to not be able to lift and get under cab...
they might have put 6.3 in the MTV and not the 5.9.... anyway though.... yes the 5.9 can be tuned up to similar specs as the C7..... but that tune would sacrifice the engine life and mpg a lot to get there. If can use less tuning needed to reach similar C7 specs. then your not pushing the...
how close to windshield do you think a smaller AC would need to be to get that same de-humidifying the air... to have an effect on keeping windshield fog down?
Agree..... the pulse system in reality works best IMHO in associaton with maintaining 100% charge..... by increasing odds a smidge more that max amount of sulfur is kept from adhereing to the plates; but that is even debated. For a few extra bucks.. with a build your own system worth the try...
matters what your truck.... if the truck had a C7... then a swap to a computer engine is best to match better coordination with computer transmission. If your truck is older with mechanical engine ..... then a mechanical transplant would be best.
The older FMTV and MTV on the short lived...
you can make two or three of those yourself for the price they sell the solargizer system if your so inclined. Solargizer is nice unit for sure though.
Solargizer (military versons) are confusing. They appear the same but some wayyyyyyy more expensive that another from same company... They are actually different. Priced right, the more expensive actually will charge batteries, balance batteries, and desulfate/pulse..... the less expensive...
if your hell bent on tilting..... put actuator to lift in center some how on pivots along with pins that can be removed/replaced in corners of solar array. Then you can tilt north south east or west. Basically works like how center lift in a Unimog and others with 3 way dump beds.
Electric...
is it worth it to add tilt mechanism? Are the gains much? My understanding was the gains earned with tilt mechanism etc. are more expensive over time compared to just adding more panels??? Read that was not true in the past... is now with cost of panels dropped so much over last few years...
Interesting phenominom. Been nothing but storm after storm here... or just Farmer happy rain so all can do is charge batteries with the 110v charges for few hours then go to work... Wash rinse repeat.
Well last couple days it would jump to 28v charge randomly.... I've not found a pattern...
catch 22 is this IMHO would get blocked by mud pretty quick . IMHO.... run all vents up to a air cleaner like box (6" PVC tube?) in the spare tire area.
interesting that this helps. The military one blocks air much lower . Which makes since ... think 1/2 to 3/4 of the radiator sits below the grill . hmmm. then again I see now yours appears to tuck down below the grill a bit. How far down does it go?
ifffff.... your going to coat..... yuo need something that sticks extremely well..... and ABSOLUTELY prevents air AND water from getting behind it. Hence why most these days use quality bed liner-ish Poly? stuff (rubber bits embedded or not) stuff. And you want to coat it in a large enough...
priority is getting my daily driver going. only making 11 dollars a day by time pay fuel. Oh well.. that is the cost of having principles. Will figure something ou.
