    M1007?????

I have a 'civilian' Blazer that is red with red interior, 4x4 with a 350 , AC, PL, PW that had DOD stickers on the rad support (smashed in accident) and another in the door jamb. I knew the guy that bought it many years ago at a gov auction (pre internet). I was very upset with my son when he...

    Need help with transmission

Like Tinstar said but I'd add check the linkage. It could be out of adjustment and a little body flex could be putting in in Neutral or Park but showing Reverse on the column. Anyway, do not drive it! 1st and reverse share the same bands and if reverse is gone so is first gear.

Need Some Help with Rear Axle Seal "blow out"

Yup, don't need to go fast or far, just hit your brakes hard while backing up and repeat.

    Tie down extensions

I'd be willing to bet that CUCVRUS has some and Hillbilly Wizard too.

Need Some Help with Rear Axle Seal "blow out"

I think the answer to why your brakes pull to the right is in your post," I drove the truck today about 60 to 70 miles, felt of the hubs right after returning home and they were all cool except the right front seemed just a little bit warm. " Only three reasons that would be warm and lefts not...

    Center mount Turbo M1008

Just an idea, how about changeing the 'gas' pedal from a floor mount to a hanging one? Kind of like a clutch or brake pedal. Sometimes an extra set of eyes see's things in a different light.

My M1009 has died new curve ball thrown Updated

Almost everything in my garage gets either silicone or never seize, just depends on application.

Need Some Help with Rear Axle Seal "blow out"

Sounds like you're replacing just about all of it, I never replace wheel bearings 'just because'. I'll take them out and clean and inspect them and well over half the time they go right back in. They have to actually show signs of wear before I change them.

Need Some Help with Rear Axle Seal "blow out"

Looks good! Glad you caught that pin before totally reassembly. Have you ever noticed that drum brakes stop so much better going forward than in reverse? That's because of the wedge effect you get from the longer shoe (primary) contacting the drum and rotating slightly and wedging itself against...

Good to see you back even once in awhile. I can't imagine what you're going thru. Take care!

    Front differential breather removal

I always thought they are pressed in, nothing to back that up, just must've heard that somewhere in the past 65 years.

    1984 M1009 cucv

The K30 would be a truck, not the Blazer. Unless someone swapped axles you want all Blazer stuff. You can tell easy nuff, just count the lug nuts, Blazer has 6 the K30 has 8.

Need Some Help with Rear Axle Seal "blow out"

Been awhile but look closely at the nut in pic #1 at about one o'clock there's a small pin. that is the 'inside' nut and the pin MUST face out! Then the washer PN12 goes on and line up the tab on the inside (11 o'clock pic #2) and at the same time the pin slides into one of the holes on PN 12...

    Cold Weather Start

I never add anything to my tanks, but I live upstate NY and all the fuel is treated at the 'factory' (?) and only once had a problem with gelling in the big truck and I had filled up somewhere around NJ or CT. For you guys in the middle or southern areas you should add some anti gel and/or...

Need Some Help with Rear Axle Seal "blow out"

It sucks not having enough room to move and work. I have a 3 car garage but one stall is taken up with tool boxes, compressor, lathe, mill and benches. The other two bays are 20'x20' that's good side to side but not so good end to end. Many times I have to work with the door open and half the...

    My first 6.2 swap thread

Years ago I had a 1/2T Chevy 2wd with a 6.2. It would wear the belt(s) very thin and quickly, after many replacements from parts houses, I went to NAPA and was asked "will fit or recommended"? I was never asked that before , turns out that GM used a pully and belt with a slightly different...

Need Some Help with Rear Axle Seal "blow out"

Well, I guess now that your done cleaning it's a piss poor time to chime in, buttt. A plastic tote and a couple of gallons of kerosene and a parts brush would've cleaned that right up. Don't worry you can thank me later :) Those metal flakes you mentioned, they may be from the spring and other...

    Front end rebuild

I wish I could say for sure but I don't think it's the 44. Look at the cover and compare, It's been awhile but I believe I had the 8.5 30 or 32(?) spline

    Front end rebuild

If it's not your daily driver I like to order from Rock Auto, they have parts listed from the cheap and scrolling down they get better and more$ but it's tough beating their prices. The only issue is if you get the wrong part, I did have that happen ONCE but that was just an A/C line. It's nice...

    Tire chains?

In over two million miles I've driven the only time I ever used chains (other than towing) was twice and then I just tossed them down on the ice and kicked them under the drives and eased out the clutch, once I was away from the dock on a better surface I went and retrieved them. I know that's...
