If you have to remember to put water in them why even bother with the solar. Just charge them every other month with running the set or putting a 120v charger on them.
Being so remote you need spare filters and more oil. There cheap, dont go bad and you will use them one way or another.
I keep at least 2 spare filters of each and 3-4 oil filters, at least a few gallons of engine oil and coolant. Also im in NY not a remote island with only 1qt of oil to be...
Not sure on the fuel. But i guess if you want to test it start the set and disconnect the oil pressure sensor. It should shutdown.
The cable adjusts the HZ/engine rpm. It does not sence load. Put your normal load on the generator and set with a DVOM then refrence the meter on the machine.
I recently got a sportsman 800w inverter generator. Its the perfect portable companion to a mep. If all you need to do is charge batterys, run a chest freezer or keep a few lights on its perfect. Very light and very portable. Im up to 9hrs on 0.55gal of fuel. Generstor cost under $200 shipped.
You need an amp clamp meter. Something is wrong.
I also have an 802 with 240v 1/2hp well pump and it starts it with no issues. I have a heat pump water heater and can take a hot shower with no issues.
Heres the tag from my pump when i replaced it last year. It also ran a 12yr old simular...
Thats a really old AC unit and im sure its had the piss run out of it living in FL. The compressors on these can take more amps to start the older they get. Also could be a week capacitor. A hard start kit and replacing the capacitor would be something cheap to try after you get an amp meter...
Not enough info in the first post. Whats the specs on your AC? Have you tested the starting amps with a meter? Older AC units can be harder to start.
In the end if you cant get it working a window unit is very cheap and will save you fuel.

States declare a state of emergency so the money they spend can come out of another pocket. Not so people pay attention to things. This day in age we are bombarded with info..some times its just to much.
Not really sure theres a stead fast number. Personaly i run it on my house every time we change the clocks and try to change the oil once a year...this time it got away from me with a oil filter from 2017.
You could change all the filters every XX months/years but this dosnt see alot of use...
