It holds the aluminum oil cooler lines to the fan shroud as it passes from the left side of the engine to the right side of the radiator. I made a few in the past. They are a part many just toss away same as the rear oil cooler line brackets. Many missing. The one I found and am showing is...
I have a conundrum here. I looked closely at the firewall insulation, and it is crisp and missing at places. I have reached a critical point in the build where I must decide if I change it or not. The right side is knarly and very crisp to touch. 38 years this month since it was installed. The...
I was in the process of getting the body square on the frame and I need a helper. I cannot crank the strap and measure at the same time. I pulled the right inner fender apron out of storage and washed it off. Looks like new. It the OEM inner fender from this M1009. I had it powder coated black...
As dumb as it may sound, I was destined to save this hard-to-find part. I wire brushed it all over and tapped the 1/4 X 20 captured nut out. I oiled the threads and washed the part. I attached a bolt to it and clamped it in place for a few coats of paint.
To me it was worth saving. I feel...
Today after work I went out for lunch right outside Indiantown Gap on the main road leading into the gap. The street name is Fisher Avenue. They are in the process of closing Indiantown Gap to public access. I rode the motorcycle over to the area that the main gate is being constructed and...
That shaft on the passengers side is attached by a rod and it can get stuck in the on/compressed position. I don't know all the technical terminology of these parts but I seen this M1009 truck in person and everything under the hood was dry and sticking. I know the eccentric on the throttle...
Did you try to lube the shaft on the passengers side of the injection pump. Does that move freely? That pump was replaced during the time I rebuilt the truck. I am thinking 2011 or 2012. I don't remember. I was doing so many back then. When did you buy it from me? Figure a year or 2 before that...
I am lost. You said you removed the bleeders from the calipers and they are still stuck. Brake hoses, master cylinder, what ever. If you open the bleeders the caliper is the issue because with the bleeders open all hydraulic pressure is gone. Something is not right here. Time for some pictures...
Lost here from afar. Are the slide pins and slide pin seal clean and free of rust? Not sure if they don't release with the hydraulic pressure released.
Back when I bought new CUCV sheet metal from the GM dealer I was able to get a rebate for repairing any of the new dented replacement panels. Sometimes they were that bad that they would get credit and eventually just give me the new panel after they were credited. That was when new GM doors...
That looks a little rough. Check this out. Refreshing Gunny the thread. | Page 2 | SteelSoldiers
I posted a large picture of the output flange yoke of an M1008 NP208 C
Use 1981 - 1991 C/K 10 -30. These are all the same.

Check it out. I posted a thread and show the correct pump and the incorrect pump and explain the difference. I stock 2 of the correct pumps at all times just because the confusion never stops with all suppliers. Good Luck.
The bumpers, brush guard, and hitch assembly came off this truck. I drove it 10 years like this and then painted it 686 tan. The bumpers, brush guard, and hitch assembly were so nice I used another set and eliminated a crusty rusty set of parts that needed refurbished anyway before they became...
I carefully choose the bumpers and pintle assembly I am going to use. Bumpers are already sealed and painted in 383 CARC and the hitch is ready to be scuffed and painted again. I didn't want a rusty beat-up set of bumpers and a rusty seized hitch to work with. These were part of some of my...
I had this grille on an M1009 that I changed the color to 686 TAN. The paint is really nice so I will just scrub it and sand it with 180. I sanded it and scrubbed it really well. Nice and clean. So clean it received Gold Bowtie of excellence. Then onto the brush guard. I am tired of sanding...
