What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I've been daily driving it since getting it on the road. I've put 1000 miles on it in about 1.5 months.

    Marine Corp vs Army humvees?

    It's a 1097A2, so higher then 10k.

    Marine Corp vs Army humvees?

I thought they're all coming with clean SF97s now? I just bought a USAF truck and it was clean.

    Top speed

If it's a 4 speed truck, you're fine. I travel on the highway at 70mph for miles no issue.

Eliminating 1 LB of rotating mass = 8.4 LBS of static mass. Let's upgrade TIRES

Definitely. They're much lighter than the stock rims with runflat inserts.

Eliminating 1 LB of rotating mass = 8.4 LBS of static mass. Let's upgrade TIRES

I run 37×13.5-17 Cooper SSTs on my truck, with basic 17" steel wheels. They knocked a ton of weight off the truck, but they're definitely not what I'd consider light.

    SF 97 Status

They'll insure special interest vehicles even if they're not 25yo. I'd give them a call and see what they can do.

    SF 97 Status

I have mine titled through Montana under my llc. My title says AM General on it, with the model being 1097A2. I don't think it matters that much. As long as you have the title in your name and have it registered, it's all good. I use Hagerty insurance, and it's very affordable.

    SF 97 Status

Mine took about 2 months to come in. They never updated it on the site, it just showed up one day in my mailbox lol

    AWOLs 1997 M1097A2 Build

Took it for it's first trip down Rt95. Did very well. Maintains 70mph pretty easily, and no weird vibrations or any pulling. I've put almost 200 miles on it the last few days.

    AWOLs 1997 M1097A2 Build

Little update: I've taken the truck on a few short trips, but today I took it on a 70 mile journey through back roads and farmland. It performed flawlessly! Cruises at 65mph no problem, doesn't get hot, and doesn't seem to have any weird shimmy or shakes. It's pretty cool cruising down the road...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Took it for a little cruise. Was a beautiful day for it, 75° and a slight sea breeze.

    Lug Nuts M1123

The lugs on mine are beat. They definitely can't be put on finger tight at first. Usually you'll get maybe 2 rotations before needing the impact. Sounds like some new lugs are in order.

    Mileage On Humvees

The USMC isn't easy on anything lol Mine is a USAF truck with 15k miles on it, and you'd think it has 500 when looking underneath it.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

The X doors with that rear curtain is the best look for these trucks in my opinion. That's what I'm going for with mine.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

My goodness that's a sharp looking truck!

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Took it for a 25 mile ride. It was pretty much it's maiden voyage, and everything went smoothly. Shifts like butter, doesn't pull or wander, and the brakes will put you thru the windshield if you're not paying attention lol

M1165 - REMOVING REAR WALL - METAL CURTAIN

Probably glue/adhesive as said above. Should come off with a little prying. I wish you were closer to me, I'd love to have that curtain!
