That sounds odd for sure. What restrictions on historical vehicle registratrion? You mean insurance restrictions? When you talk about $1000's to register that might be for commercial with a weight fee plus other fees. Maybe you should talk to the people who did the registration for you and...
My 923A2 truck leaks down the air too over night. There are so many air connections that it's no wonder it doesn't leak more! I havn't taken a squirt bottle with dishsoap and water and sprayed around but maybe I should. Check your air drain valves on the passenger side behind and below the...
I can sympathize with you. I've had times working on my 6.5 in a civy suburban that I just want to throw a hand grenade at it! Sounds like your engine hasn't been torn into in some places for a long time. When bolts won't unthread and seem like they are going to snap, it is best to STOP...
There will be a posting of the event when it gets close so you can find out all the info. It's a lot of fun. You can check out the past events and the pics but I don't remember the posting name. I'll see if I can find it and let you know. Glad you went for a ride around the block and it ran...
I am looking to order one for my v-belt 6.5. What part number did you order? I didn't see any CW rotation pump for the GM 6.5. All were CCW. Thank you.
This is the tach I have. It has the 4 screws on the back. I am trying to install this in a civy vehicle with the 6.5 GM engine with the yellow sending unit that goes in the back top of the engine where a distributor would go on a gasser engine. I'm using a 12 volt to 24 volt converter to power...
Does anybody know what this tach is looking for as far as a sensor signal? I hook mine up and I think it's correct but the tach is erratic with the engine running. I don't have the wiring part that goes into the body. I just ran a couple of wires from the sensor/sending unit to the tach + and...
Mine does that too when the tank gets low. I have an M923A2. I think it's normal, just the fuel sloshing around in the tank and moving the float up and down. When the tank is full, the gauge reads steady.
Thanks everyone for the ideas. I think I'll go with putting the probe in the manifold like where crf450x and others mentioned. That should work good. Thanks Luke's_deuce for mentioning the max temp that I should watch for. Time to get out the drill and tap!
Hello all. I'm getting ready to install an EGT gauge to my M923A2 engine and was wondering where to place the thermocouple probe. Here is a pic of my exhaust manifold with an area that I highlighted in white as a possible location. Any thoughts?
I cut one of my junk tires in half to take to disposal place. The beads are a killer to cut. I used a sawzall and a circular saw both with carbide blades and regular finer toothed blades. Lotta work!
