That filter is there JIC there is an internal pump failure. It filters backwards, inside-out, and has a magnet in it to stop any crap the pump internals puke out in case of a failure so they do not make it to the injectors. It is NOT a required maintenance item. Unless the go juice in the truck...
If you STOP the reason for the corrosion, put good antifreeze in it, it SHOULD prevent the rest from leaking. If you flush it, the flush....if a chem flush is used, might dislodge any rust on the remaining plugs and you'll spring another leak. There are more plugs in the block.
You can make it re-using your old fittings. Notice the hose is not crimped, those are push on type connections to the fittings, the hose can be cut off and re used. You need to find a commercial hose shop and get some push on hose. If you take the hose you have, most will be happy to fix you up...
AFAIK, M105 didn't have seats, only side and end boards. The sides and ends slide into pockets, thebows slide into the sleeves on the sides. The bows are something like 1 1/4 square tube. I know where there are piles of new bows and corners. PM me if interested, they will be inexpensive. No...
Print them, can't tell you how many times these have helped out. Beware though, SOME manufacturers have separate, other than these standard torques. Something that comes to mind is New Flyer busses. They USED to ship us busses with the axles removed. We....Cummins....would torque them to the...
Both of those are awesome, Here is a PDF of the stuff I copied out of a manual and took to a friends house that the original Dirt Bag crew works on out junk of.
How far to get home? You could take it off, plug the pressure line and put a stopper in the drain, but it will be obnoxiously loud. You'll need to figure out a way to put filtered air into the engine.
Check the blow by tube for obstructions, if air can't get out, it creates crankcase pressure...
ATF meant for older vehicles, like dex/merc is very high in detergent, it can loosen things up. Seafoam, I think, is a water based additive. Seen it used on gas engines, it is kinda like when a l o n g time ago we used to pour water down the carb to remove carbon. I haven't had any ULSD go...
Just saw this, been out and about. Any smoke? If so, what color? Isolate the engine from the chassis. Run a line from a clean container of go juice directly to the pump and see if it cleans up. If there is enough air in the system to make it run really bad, it could take a bit for it to clean...
Did you adjust the cross heads....bridges...whatever GM called them? Just do it, it would suck if they were too tight and as soon as it got hot, the clearance goes away and kills the engine. You are there.....
You can click on the date above the last view logged on the rt side and it will take you to the last post. Let me see if I am smart enough to take a screen shot of it......
+1 on NOT using shop air to pressurize the system. Go to NAPA or the likes and get a pressure tester. I have one I could ship to you, but I am leaving for 9 days. If yo wanna wait though.....
