I think you may need to check your specs a little better, The LDS-465-1A makes 175 HP in the M39 series 5 tons, the ONLY version of the multifuel that makes 200 hp+ is the LDS 465-2,which was produced for the M656 and M757 trucks with the allison auto.
BOTH versions of the multifuel are lacking...
Why in the world would you want to replace that pinnacle of MV engines, with a Multifuel?
Wouldn't that be a downgrade of sorts?
If you do the swap,I'll buy the Mack from you.
The goat and everything else but food is loaded, just a short trip to work in the AM for Ice and to run the dually/trailer across the scales and make sure I am not over my 24,000 lb tag limit.
I should be on the road no later than 0815. I should be at Durhamtown about 1300 or so.
I still have the takeoff USMC tiedown kit for a M151A1,to include the front bumper, rear corner mounts and fording pipe support(no pipe or guard) that I can bring.
$200 delivered to the rally
UPDATE!!!! HELP NEEDED
I spoke too soon,it seems Adam has a blown head gasket on the M109,so If ANYONE has a new style set of head gaskets they can bring to the rally,Please do!!
He is about at about the halfway point to Durhamtown in GA,I assume on I-20 headed west.
I think he is gonna call...
I talked to Adam at 0920 this morning, still coping with problems on Bella,I think everything is straightened out and he "should" be on his way shortly.
We made the last few purchases for the stay this week,I should be in around 12 to 1 PM on Wednesday, with Jennifer arriving about the same ETA...
Nothing much to report today, finished checking all fluid levels and switched the front steering gear box over to JD cornhead grease,it takes 1 1/3 tubes to fill it up.
Still gotta bleed the brakes after changing 5 old hoses last weekend and do the same conversion to the rear steering gear...
Would anyone have any interest in a vinyl GP medium tent with poles? I can leave it on the trailer and bring it,otherwise I gotta unload it beforehand.
Mark gave it to me and honestly I have no idea what I would do with it.
I finally had time to test drive the Goat with the new gauges and new tires installed, along with an S250 shelter in the bed.
WOW,talk about sucking the life out of a 3-53,who would have thought 1000 lbs would make that much of a difference?
I'm sure wind resistance had some part in it(nasty...
I actually had that boxed up to be sent out today(work has not allowed me to ship anything lately, never home!)since I was home today because of the weather.
Nothing much to report this week, just doing some final "nitpicky" stuff before the GA rally.
I am converting both the oil pressure and temperature gauges to mechanical with Murphy gauges vs the standard electrical M series gauges.
The oil press gauge had already been converted by the Forestry...
It sounds like either a dual winch setup from a M26 Pacific or a M123 tractor.
I believe either one could be operated at the same time, the Pacific was mechanical with clutches and the M123 was air controlled with rotochambers.
If I remember correctly,my M52A1 had the same 5th wheel as my M52A2 and M52 gasser, all were interchangable.
The gasser is a 63,the A2 a 65 and the A1 was a 69.
Are you sure the prior owner didn't "make" a tractor from a M54A1 cargo?
A picture or 2 of the rear frame rails would help if possible.
