And my 3-53, I am probably jinxing it for next time, is instant start with a push of the button.
Barring a dead or depleted 24 volts.
Mine is almost instantaneous.
Ok,just making sure that is the norm.
From what I have gathered from the guys at the Forest Service yard,it had been untouched and had not run in 8 years, the fuel filters looked the part too!
Not to derail quarkzs' thread, but how quickly does everyones 353 start? instantly or does it take a few turns?
In spite of the fact that the Goat and trailer/dually are almost 100% mission capable for the trip,I will not know for sure if I/WE are gonna make it till Oct 15th.
Up until that date,it could go either way.
At any rate,IF I/WE do make it,will their be a wrecker capable of removing an S250...
m38inmaine is right,it just rests on top of the windshield frame and the pressure of the hardtop keeps it in place, only the side frames bolt to the hardtop assmy.
It took a while to figure out with no directions!!
Will do quarkz,
It does have a foam strip with a recess cut into it to fit to the windscreen top rail,as m38inmaine said.
I actually had to remove the slide rail for the soft top to get it to fit correctly.
UPDATE!!
Since I made the trip to Texas and purchased the remaining lot of Gama Goat tires/rims from Mark,
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?142900-Morganton-NC-to-Spring-Branch-TX-and-back
The M561 now has 7 EXCELLENT tires(Thanks again Mark!),I installed the best 6 out of the lot...
I have a takeoff M151A1 Marine Corp tiedown kit(front bumper, rear corner shackle kit, fording pipe corner mount) that I can bring if anyone wants it for $200
Also looking for M151A1 parts as well as Gama Goat stuff. It never hurts to have spares!
I have learned to carry AT LEAST 2 spares with this trailer, plus the gear to break down and change a tubeless tire on the road.
BTW the tires were FAR from overloaded as the total load with the trailer included was 8000 lbs,and each tire is rated for 3580 lbs @ 80 psi cold,I also made sure they...
Well, home at last,"murphy" left us alone till literally 5 minutes from the house, then trailer tire #2 blew out, luckily I had 1 more spare and after a 15 minute change,we got home around 9 PM local.
I'll go more into detail about the trip tomorrow, time for some sleep now.
