No wax anywhere else other than water pump and the passages in the front. As soon as I cleared all the wax in the water pump holes bright green coolant came out. I used 170° water off my garage spigot and it was weird the wax melted and dissipated with the water.
Lucky me! I own a irrigation company for 29 years here in Indiana. I have stacks of PVC!
If you ever need any sprinkler parts I'll take care of you for all you do here. You've helped me greatly!

Thank you. What I've been looking for!
How did you get to harmonic balancer seal back in. I'm going to try to take it to my shop and use my press I can't get it in with a rubber mallet.
Pass the peanuts.... Oh shit there goes my diverticulitis.
I couldn't even turn old pump with pipe wrench. It's toast. I think with it sitting in that valley with water soaking for 18 years it did a number on it. I can't believe they is no drain in there.
I've looked everywhere and it seems that the GEP manufactured engines didn't use gaskets for oil pans and timing chain covers, along with valve covers. Is it safe to say I can use high quality RTV just like the factory did? I've always used Permatex the right stuff 90 minute gasket maker on...
I ended up getting the key tonight and the gasket kit. Back together, but I need to pick up loc tite. I want to make sure this bolt doesn't come out.
I'm a little confused the gaskets I got for. 6.5 diesel do not seem to fit right. I think the oil pan has a one piece gasket that goes to the front.
I forgot my gear puller at my shop so it will have to wait for tomorrow. Also the key is getting delivered tomorrow along with timing chain gasket kit. I think I may be able to pull the crank sprocket and not have to remove just to get cam sprocket off. In the mean time, I'm cleaning out...
And this is what happens to your cam sprocket when your injection pump freezes. It eats the key in front of cam sprocket.
I feel like I'm half way there. [emoji23]
Its a two piece cover. The water pump and backing plate and then lower timing cover that has bolts that actually go up through oil pan.
Just waiting on parts from AMgeneral. Its a blessing that I live an hour away and can get parts direct in 2 days. It does stink that they don't have a...
Anyone have a good write up on setting up IP with cam gear? I've found tons of 6.5 Chevy truck write ups. But no HMMVW. I think the ip gera has to be at 6 o'clock and cam sprocket at 12.
Also if anybody has torq specs for tightening engine bolts.
Thanks! A few went that day rather cheap with low miles like mine that were no runners. I wish it was 7900 out the door. 9800 after fee's and taxes and 1900 to ship. Still not bad for 11700! It was full of oil, changed that as soon as I got it, along with all filters. Diesel and Oil...
