Is that a medium or medium heavy bar? If it's a medium, I would shorten it up a bit before towing 30,000#. I think you would be wise to add weight to the back of the Pete. With all that said, it would be advisable not to bolt that tow bar to the bumper. All the tow bar attachments for the...
Often times the plastic tab that it part of a gauge bucket breaks off. You might be able to put a small screw with a bushing around it back near its place. The cable travels over this and back to the column housing to show the movement of the needle.
I'm seeing 2 different trucks here. Are we speaking about the one in red oxide or the other with the giant bed?
Any weird levers beside the driver's seat?
This is hardly related to our hobby. We're just going to put a lock on this before we have to fill out a "hurt feelings" report. Be advised, any attempt to skirt around the lock and get the last word will be dealt with accordingly.
I can't say enough good things about George and the folks at White Owl. They have helped me out of so many binds. In many cases they could have charged me much more but they didn't. Their prices are always competitive.
Bringing this back up. Since it's been a minute, wanted to see if any members here have done this conversion and could add any pointers. Truck in question is an M51A2, looking to "steer away" from the old steering gear before is steers away on it's own. Is the LDS pump adequate? Is the...

Congrats and welcome aboard. Looks like a fine truck to start with. If the electrical system is all stock you may need to look into the "Plan B" method of fixing the typical gremlins. BTW, I could be wrong but unlikely, you have a Navy truck!
We have a TM section linked above. The one with schematics is TM 9-2320-289-20. The schematics are in the appendix. Congrats and good luck. Unscrewing a CUCV that someone else has screwed up can be a challenge.
It really is a great looking truck. I noted the hinged mudflaps indicative of an older gasser truck which leads me to believe the bed is original as well. Is the interior painted strata blue as well? I had a 53 Stude M108 that I converted to multifuel. While I was repowering it I started...
Wow, that is quite a find. I would have loved to find them when I had my 275. Might want to hold onto the ones you straightened. Would be great for an M48 project.
Gasoline would also be good for getting you exactly what you need but you've sworn it off. A 6.0 would be perfect balance between power and efficiency.
Just stumbled across this. Search a very popular auction site. Use this exact search term and see what pops up. 11GBA12006P1
Hint, it's TM 9-2815-207-35, something you may need.
