    Hello from MO

I can't help with getting her lit up but it's sure worth the effort to save it. At least you know pretty much what you're dealing with.

    Hello from MO

Very interesting indeed. Firstly, click on this link and look at the PDF titled M54A1WW. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/carnacs-historical-vin-info-thread.193055/post-2258506 Looking at the formats of the VIN numbers there (only 3), we can surmise that the 725 in your VIN is just the...

    Hello from MO

Correct, M725 is the 60s Jeep with ambulance body. Look (extremely close) at your left frame rail between the front axle bumper forward. SN should be stamped there albeit very lightly. Don't sand too heavy, they might disappear. Post those up and we might be able to decipher it. Shoot, what...

    Engine swap poll

I think if mine ever checks out, I'll do the 6.0 LS. Super dependable, last a good long time and swap prices are reasonable. They are also reasonably efficient. We have mountains here. 6.2 + mountain = s l o w.

Long term storage of rubber and plastic parts?

Use one of those food savers that suction out the bag and leave an oxygen absorber in there. I think the prepper wing of civilization might have an answer. As for me, I keep all that stuff in a drum of bacon grease. <----Satire for those who can't see it.

    Hello from MO

Bad thing about ENDTs is that they have a narrow powerband. The good thing about ENDTs is that they have a powerband. Your truck sure looks like and M54 or the like converted to a tractor. Foot longer wheelbase. I think it's great looking. Member AMGENERAL was a thermadyne enthusiast, he...

    Need help identifying part

If it is a starter bolt, and it likely is. I'd not even think about starting it even one more time.

    M101 fuel tank option

LOL, I was searching for that TM. I knew I had it, found it on a CD. I have several old Dept. of the Army TM CDs. After finding it I see that I am late to the game. LOL

    M51A2 VIN Location

Thanks, this is helping to confirm the location on that left frame rail

    M51A2 VIN Location

Okay, I've done some searching. Found a few threads, some with dead links. On an M51A2 tipper, I am struggling to find the VIN stamped on the frame. The few threads I've reviewed have been pretty consistent showing it on the left frame between the bump stop and steering box. A few stated that...

I have too Many CUCV's and Parts

Might take you a few years Rick. Tracking says my gift arrived today. Will check when I get home.

    Harmonic balancer and waterpump

Overkill is good. You will never complain about 200A. I like your shop. It looks snug but comfortable. Like mine, if you need to remove axle shafts, something has to get out of the way.

    Changing fuel filters

If you can read WIX from the outside, someone converted it to a spin on. When in doubt, post up a pic so we can decipher what you have. Edit, check out this link! Its a spin on conversion (a good one) and it sports the same part number. JATONKA MULTIFUEL SPIN-ON OIL FILTER KITS (jatonkam35s.com)

    M125-A1 Cargo Truck Cummins V8 300 Powered

When I looked at Jumbo, Bruce Kubu's restored M125, I was amazed at the size. David, when you get the cab out, take pics of the steering box. My memory is faint but it looked like the size of a small block chevy.

    M105 lift gate

It's a carpenters trailer and the seller knew what he was talking about. It was a radial arm saw IIRC, a big one. The double stroke jacks are odd but if yours works it's probably worth $300, maybe $325! Joking, its worth what someone will pay. I lost out on one Wayne Harris had back in the...

    Lifting a M1031

Since I know nothing about HMMWVs, is that spare lifted up with a ratchet binder type device?
