I'm still not convinced it is.......so, one more shot at fuel pump specs. Original primary fuel pumps were Facet 40193 as shown in TM 9-6115-642-24P on p67/153.
68 PAOZZ PAOZZ PAOZZ 72850 40193 ..PUMP,FUEL,ELECTRICA 1 1 MAIN
It appears Facet no longer makes the pump but I was able to find...
I'm having a difficult time finding specs on the specified Airtex E1074 Main Fuel Pump. I can find plenty of data on the Aux Fuel Pump.....from the Ops Manual -
Auxiliary Fuel Pump:
Voltage Rating 24 VDC
Delivery Pressure 5.0-6.5 psi (34.5-65.5 kPa) range
My notes say for Primary: Facet...
IROAN Inspect and Repair Only As Necessary
h. IROAN. That maintenance technique which determines the
minimum repairs necessary to restore equipment, components, or
assemblies to prescribed maintenance serviceability standards by
using all available diagnostic equipment and test procedures and...
Check oil sending unit and pressure switch wiring. I had a wire vibrate in two on an 802 one time.
3 wires at sender / switch:
Then check connections at gauge.
I just took a look at my 803A and the as installed condition of my fuel solenoid agrees with "FIGURE 6. Fuel Solenoid Installation" in ARMY TM 9-2815-253-24P and jamawieb's post #16. You have found an error in the TM's "FIGURE 9. Governor System" with regard to the Fuel Solenoid linkage connection.
I saved that pdf file when I first got my generator in early 2017 in case I had problems. I recall seeing shock prices way higher for the M116A3 than for the LTT series of trailers and that did not make sense to me. Armed with the part number you need I would start searching various sites. I...
Nice job on the fabrication.....but I can't hold fire.
I believe our couplers are the TA-6 Hydroact from Mendenhall. Croft Trailer has a parts break down. Pages 6 & 7 of the pdf file has the 5 position coupler shown. I cannot find the part listed for sale, though...
Kurt has a great idea: rent a trailer with brakes. Your 9th picture has the trailer data plate: looks like 260 lbs on lunette unloaded = more with that heavy generator. Search SS for the TM on the generator / trailer combo for better details on weight. Search 'rent 1 ton pickup truck' and...
You may be able to rent a 1 ton pickup truck to tow it with but you don't want to be learning to pull a trailer weighing 5,000lbs with no brakes. That trailer appears to have air over hydraulic brakes and the typical rental pickup will not have the air assist brakes.
Details on Rain Guard
The section of 4" drain pipe also helps keep the connector clean when not in use. On the generator trailer I've got a spare male connector that I plug the generator connector into when storing. I close the open end of my rain guard to help seal out critters. When...
That's my attempt at rain proofing the connector. It's a piece of 4" PVC drain pipe. One end is open, so certainly not water proof but will keep the main drops off of my twist lock connector.
An electric stove makes a decent (and cheap) load bank for these generators. The ones with the exposed eyes are cheaper to repair than the newer smooth top units. My Kenmore 'Load Bank' has an extra element in a warming drawer that allows me to consume ~52 Amps.....or 100% of my 803's rated power.
With 15 feet of SOOW 6/4 and a 50 amp twist lock connector you might be able to save your storage box on that door. You will need to tighten the cable hole to keep critters outside.
For Oil Pressure Gauge my notes say: Datcon - Oil Pressure Gauge 0-80 PSI 24V - 101574. Look on Ebay for "DATCON 2" PRESSURE GAUGE PART NUMBER 101575" to find something close. However, this one has shiny bezel. 240 ohm resistance matches above referenced oil sender unit.
