I think the difference in compression ratio is negligible. Maybe 1 point lower in the later model 6.5s. The flow rate is not going to be much of a factor either, as the turbocharger is forcing air into the engine. I would probably keep the original heads, unless they're cracked, or unless you...
(Relatively) Good news all around! I was bummed out when M813RC told me what had happened. I'm glad it's not going to cost near as much as we all feared. And, I'm glad to hear that you'll make the Burnet air show. Although I was looking forward to seeing Mrs. mkcoen's M37 out and about. Maybe a...
I just got around to reading this thread. Cool truck! Sorry I missed you at the meeting last month. When you get the A/C working, you can drive it anywhere, so we'll expect to see you at more events.

The C-clip axle has long been considered a weak link in a high-horsepower application. Most racing sanctioning bodies require them to be replaced with a pressed-on bearing at some speed/horsepower point. Having said all that, GM sold millions of them for many, many years with no problems...
I replaced my water pump with one from Boyce. No problems whatsoever. I recommend replacing all of your radiator/water hoses while you have it apart, unless you are certain that they are in very good shape.

The injector pump injects the fuel into the combustion chamber. The lift pump pumps the fuel from the tank to the injector pump.

Sorry, sat on the thread for a while before replying.
I found out mine needed to be rebuilt when I stopped at an intersection, and so much smoke came from under the hood that I thought the truck was on fire. Turns out, my air pack vent was puking brake fluid directly at the turbo. It was a huge relief to push the brakes and have nothing but air...
I'm glad son #2 is doing well in boot camp. If anyone were to actually enjoy it, I would expect him to. He's a good kid. I guess he's a good young man, now.

I just bought a 1 gallon garden-type sprayer from Home Depot ($7), cut the hose in front of the spray wand, and bought the brass fittings required to plumb it into the vent fitting on the master cylinder cap. Fill the MC with fluid, put some in the sprayer, and give the sprayer a few pumps. It...
