    Working on the M1078 LMTV

I didn't know McGyver was still on. Thought you might be watching "ER" with your foot propped up ; )

    6.2 with turbo swap

I think the difference in compression ratio is negligible. Maybe 1 point lower in the later model 6.5s. The flow rate is not going to be much of a factor either, as the turbocharger is forcing air into the engine. I would probably keep the original heads, unless they're cracked, or unless you...

Gotta vote for my buddy MKCOEN. I do like his LMTV, and I'm a sucker for a sympathy vote solicitation. Scott

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

(Relatively) Good news all around! I was bummed out when M813RC told me what had happened. I'm glad it's not going to cost near as much as we all feared. And, I'm glad to hear that you'll make the Burnet air show. Although I was looking forward to seeing Mrs. mkcoen's M37 out and about. Maybe a...

Finished adding cruise control to my 1009

    M1009 rear axle lawsuit

The C-clip axle has long been considered a weak link in a high-horsepower application. Most racing sanctioning bodies require them to be replaced with a pressed-on bearing at some speed/horsepower point. Having said all that, GM sold millions of them for many, many years with no problems...

    M35a2 water pump leak

I replaced my water pump with one from Boyce. No problems whatsoever. I recommend replacing all of your radiator/water hoses while you have it apart, unless you are certain that they are in very good shape. Scott

    Turbo time! Installing 6.5 turbo

The injector pump injects the fuel into the combustion chamber. The lift pump pumps the fuel from the tank to the injector pump. Scott Sorry, sat on the thread for a while before replying.

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

I found out mine needed to be rebuilt when I stopped at an intersection, and so much smoke came from under the hood that I thought the truck was on fire. Turns out, my air pack vent was puking brake fluid directly at the turbo. It was a huge relief to push the brakes and have nothing but air...

Glad to help. My grandson is pretty wound up also, but 30 minutes in the deuce would put him out like a light. Hope you get yours running. Scott

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

I just bought a 1 gallon garden-type sprayer from Home Depot ($7), cut the hose in front of the spray wand, and bought the brass fittings required to plumb it into the vent fitting on the master cylinder cap. Fill the MC with fluid, put some in the sprayer, and give the sprayer a few pumps. It...
