    NV4500 swap a sucess

I'm glad you posted this thread. I'm doing the exact same thing to my civvy truck. The only difference is, the transfer case from a TH700 will not bolt up to the NV4500. Guess I need a transfer case from a CUCV. Scott

    Too much power steering

Every old Chevy I've owned (and there have been several) has had extremely easy power steering. I thought it was normal. Scott

Looking to purchase, what do I look for?

I don't know if it's so much a lack of maintenance or just the normal travails of keeping a 25 year old vehicle running. Scott

    New V-100

Mark, you also have a pretty darn good burger joint close by, but it's gonna have to cool down some before I start making day trips down there. Besides, I already told Rory I'd help him fix his brakes. We definitely want that big son-of-a-gun to be able to stop.

    New V-100

It's not that I necessarily enjoy working on the V-100, but he keeps offering to buy me dinner at the local mexican food restaurant. Who can turn down that deal? It is one of the four major food groups.........

    starter question

The solenoid on your starter may be sticking. Sometimes they will bind up, and that keeps power on the starter motor. Scott

    Magnetic Start Relay

My relay occasionally doesn't work, but I haven't pulled it out of the truck yet. Can you disassemble them? Scott

All the stuff I did to my deuce, right here

Here in Texas, demilled grenades are available at most military surplus stores. I have a few, and I'm giving some very serious thought to using one for a shift knob. I like that! Scott

    I need an alternator.

To resurrect an o;d thread....I bought a 27si alternator, using the Lester number listed above. At first glance, I assumed (and you know how THAT goes) that it wired liked every other Delco I've hooked up. Then I noticed the second isolated terminal, near the battery terminal. Then I noticed...

Congratulations to both you and him. It's comforting to know that the next generation of Marines are coming up, and it looks like it's a good bunch. Scott

If the FDC leaks fuel into the engine...

My truck still has the FDC, and it seems to run a little better on straight diesel fuel. However, at about $4.00/gallon, I've been putting a lot of WMO in it lately. I don't know how big each factor is, but with about 75% WMO, pulling a MKT-85 into a 30 mph headwind with cargo cover on, a...
