I don’t know what to say. I love this site because after all the jawing about trucks and stuff, the things that matter most is the friendships. This hobby brings some of the most outstanding people I know together. This is a family for sure.
Mrs Harris, my prayers are with you and yours.
My M934 was loosing prime. Got some advice to install an electric fuel pump at the tank. Bought a 24 volt pump, installed it and found a pin hole leak in a line in about 10 minuets. I repaired the line and stopped loosing prime. The electric pump cost me about 5 MPH so I removed it but left all...
I can’t help you with the starting problem, but once you get it running put a volt meter on the batteries. It should read just under 28 volts. My guess is the voltage regulator may be over charging the system and that might be burning up the headlamps... It’s also hard on batteries.
Sorry I...
All of our vehicles have red instrument lights. That would be great in a black out situation. However, While driving around at night, I can hardly see the gauges in my vehicles. I wish I could find clear plastic lenses to replace the stock red ones. At least on my M934 that I use as a tow...
Congratulations! I love to see an old forgotten engine brought back to life. BTW are you using LEDs in your instrument cluster? Those gauges are easy to read...
Merry Christmas Merle. I’ve been working on my M934 for a couple years. I keep getting frustrated because I want to “finish” it. My better half has to remind me that the trip IS the destination. You have taken on a bigger project than I would do. As long as you are having fun working on it...
I had the same problem on my 934. I installed an electronic fuel pump right at the tank. Powered it up, the engine started without ether. Then I saw a puddle of fuel on the floor! A plastic line had split. Replaced with copper line, removed electronics pump, all good! Has not lost prime since...
Get rid of the filter capacitor! Go back to Billw’s post and do what he showed you in the photo. He gave me the same advice about twelve years ago and my M37’s “bad coil” is still going strong. I have made that mod on my wife’s M151 and all of my friends M series vehicles.
Some of us pay a few grand for a running truck them sink a few more in to get them road ready. You are way ahead of the game. Your truck needs work but if you are handy and ask these guys for advise, you’re going to have a real nice truck. Finding parts won’t be hard, just ask and you will be...
I have to say, you scored big! 3,800 wouldn’t buy a beat up f150 with a 100k miles and lots of rust on it. Have some fun working on it but don’t sweat the small stuff. Unless you blow it up or burn it to ground, you will always be able to sell it for more than what you have in it...
Welcome aboard! This site is a great resource. You’ll meet some of the best people in the hobby here. You may want to look into the Ohio Motor Pool. They are good folks for sure. Also consider attending the military vehicle show and swap meet in Findlay, May 18 - 20.
Welcome aboard. You stumbled into the best place to treat your sickness... Opps, I mean you're in a really good place to enjoy this hobby. What other car/truck collector hobby can you even consider getting in for $2,000.00? It's crazy, you can't buy a rust pile pick up with 200,000 miles on it...
I chose to use a class 5 receiver for my M934. For the difference in price, I have a hitch I don't have to worry about. I use a class 5 drop hitch to achieve the correct height. I set the height to match the ball height on my pickup truck. I posted a couple pictures on this post on 12/27/2016...
The "loading dock" idea is the only safe way to load a tractor that big into the bed of a truck that sits 5 feet ( or more) off the ground. My personal preference is to use a trailer for the load and a 5 ton to pull it. I pull a covered trailer with an M37 and an M151 inside. It's a 13,000 pound...
Check out this web site: www.mvccmi.org
This is the sit for Military Vehicle Collectors Club of Michigan. We invite folks like you to join with or without a vehicle. You will find this to be a rewarding hobby! The MVCCMI has an outing this coming weekend, 9/23 - 9/24, at Big Reds Orchard in...
I installed a 24 to 13.8 convert or in my 934. I used two 30 amp diodes on the output so I can charge the on board 12 volt battery and the battery on my trailer. I built a relay panel that passes 12 volt lights to the trailer as well. The 13.8 volt convert or is rated 30 amp. I'm not sure if...
Yes, connect it to the the 24 volt battery connection. I suggest using an in-line fuse and a switch between the battery and the 24 volt input connection on the converter. Then I connected the 12 volt output to a 6 circuit fuse block I bought at the auto parts store. All 12 volt devices have...
I had this problem with my 934. When I won this Truck, it had 5k miles on it. The tires looked like new. But because this Truck sat in one place for eight years, the radial tires developed flat spots. I tried to fix them with high and low tire pressures. No luck! I had to replace all ten tires...
