I have a pile of the firewall resistors. I bought everyone I seen for sale in the past 20 years. I was told they were an issue. After 27 years I never had one fail yet but I always had extras and still do.
Once again I found no help here on this site. I found the answer myself on the surge brake shock question. I took an operational trailer surge brake apart and discovered the shock to be the same condition and operational. I went and researched the shock and found the answer on Google.
How the...
I used the Stihl saw tool as the push rod to bench bleed the master cylinder. It worked great. The cylinder all bled and attached to the trailer by the hose. Done for the day. Does anyone know if the small shock is supposed to be extended and have pressure or it just pulls out and stays out...
Today after work I had a short time before I was going away with the family tp eat. I thought I would assemble my master cylinder and bench bleed it. The cover was mangled. I have the new one but decided to hammer out the old one and challenge my skills. Everyone can add new parts. The real...
Are you certain that it is power steering fluid. And did you use power steering fluid. I always use power steering fluid. I see guys use ATF and that is not what came from the factory. That is not as thick as Power steering fluid. Another thing that I noticed is that the new brake master...
Dialog from the movie Platoon (1986)
[King is writing a letter to his girlfriend]
Francis : It ain't D-E-R-E, it's D-E-A-R. And "Sarah" ain't got no two R's, King. Damn, you dumb!
King : It don't make no difference. She know what I mean. She don't read too good nohow.
Understanding Fusible Links ~ The One Wire That Will Save Your Car! (roadkillcustoms.com)
I just buy a short Help link and butt connect it in place. Auto parts stores have the fusible link wire. Good Luck.

Check out this thread. I have part numbers in the text. Good Luck. Get new springs all around it is worth the coin.
You have 2 indicator lights lit in the dash cluster? That indicates a dead bulb or a bulb that is inoperable. If I had to guess I would say the front turn lamps are not connected properly, ungrounded, or both lights are dead. Check all that out. I can tell you these old trucks can be a Royal...
I seen them engine bracket kits before but NEVER on a CUCV. Not sure what the point would be. Did an engine fall out?
I seen many of the frame flange stiffener reinforcements. They were not on the earlier model CUCV's. It became standard about midway thru the 1985 model build year. I still have...
I added a new LED license plate lamp and riveted it fast to the rear tube. I have all the wiring in place and secured. Next, I loaded some scaffold into the M1102 trailer and hauled it to a job site. Busy, busy. I have the trailer listed for sale and if it doesn't sell, I will use it and need...
I spent a day working on my trailer and getting lights wired for it. This is the Rock Crusher trailer with the dual rear stabilizer legs. I have the crusher off the trailer and disassembled for painting. I am changing the taillamps and using standard LED lamps in place of the LED military...
How about an M1010 body to overland trailer? Then you could almost stand up in it and sleep in it. Bonus is I am in Pennsylvania and have 4 to choose from.
I probably didn't change the water pump. I live by if it ain't broke don't fix it. I only change water pumps when they leak out the weep hold. Besides genuine GM water pumps are long extinct. The stuff that says A C Delco is just offshore reproductions and I don't care where it is built. If it...
Painted the underside of the hood again. Now I think it is too flat. I should have undercoated it with Rusfree.
I am stuck in one place and spinning my wheels here. Back in the day I bought semi flat black paint and it was a perfect match. I think matt black should be the same. But NOOOOO.
The thread title says CUCVRUS repair projects. But this is destructive projects. The M101 trailer got attention last week when someone wanted a leaf spring. I ended up selling the entire frame and making more room in my fence line. Everything worked out. I still have the springs, axle...
Take the headlamp bezel off with 4 - T 15 torx screws. Using a 3/8" swivel socket you can access the 3 right park/turn lamp bolts and service the bulb. Closely check the socket. it has a small thin grounding leg inside the socket that breaks and grounding is the issue. You also have a ground...
