Funny story, I was firing up a 2000kw gas turbine generator on my destroyer to prepare to get underway that day. I synced it to shore power to transfer over, hadn't done it much but had the book open to the procedure. Closed the breaker and all hell went loose, gauges pegged out, lights dimmed...
I had a similar issue. Rebuilt carb, no power idled great. Accelerator pump piston got damaged somehow when I put it back together. Redid it and all good. I would also agree to check in tank filter if it has one, my 54 didn't. Might also be a pinched or plugged line not letting enough fuel through.
I am also limited in my travel. And as a DOD civilian with a forklift license, they have me on a 2hr recall if air lift operations commence. So even if I severely fudged the 50 miles, I couldn't make it back in the 2 hours. So I can't even stop by to run the train this year if it still happens...
That's correct. I took it a step further and when I installed the LDS in my m109, used the T in the middle as my injector return, eliminating the line on the #1 injector down the front of the engine. I plugged the point where the flame heater drew fuel.
thanks all,
I was told by the corporate number people that pickup was 0800-1500 Mon-Thurs. Drive up from SC on a Monday, get there after 1400, and the guy says sorry, no loadouts after 1400. Told him what corporate said, he said they get guys all the time told weird times. Was going to abandon...
So has anyone dealt with the $25 a day storage fee? Is it charged per day or just days when they are open? Because if it is per day I'm just going to abandon this trailer. I can get it next Monday, but paying an extra $225 for the trailer plus recovery just isn't worth it to me.
Hello!
I bought a m200 trailer from Chambersburg, PA a week ago. I had some stuff come up and won't be able to get it in the allotted time.
Anyone nearby or going there that can grab it and hold it for a couple weeks? Or know of a towing company etc that can get and hold it for a decent price...
Purchased off the scrap line at Naval Weapons station Charleston, SC
WW2, Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm. Not many military vehicles can claim to have served in all 4, even if she never deployed.
1943 GE 80 ton locomotive. Two Cummins big cam 400s, 800 HP. Now used on my shortline railroad...
Been meaning to see if this was acceptable for awhile now...

Hey Ahab,
Don't worry about it. We all have done stupid stuff as kids and teens, we are blessed to have lived through!
I'm not a 'mainline' engineer, so I don't put in nearly the hours on the road as most train crews. I have had about 50 really close calls and only one vehicle hit in my career...
That was exactly what I was thinking, and then with no pressure gauge, no way to know there was no oil pressure. Was it starting to run hot when it happened?
I have days off my life from the heart stopping incidents when someone pulls out in front of me, runs the gates, or is trespassing... All I can do is set the brakes, make noise and hold on. And sometimes there isn't time to do any of it...
The industry average is you will kill someone every 2...
Got home at 2120 last night. JP (EMD) about an hour after that. Safe trip although we had a moron lock his brakes up in a construction zone and would have creamed us if not for JP's cat like reflexes and trucker spidey sense.
I sure have missed it the last few years and it was great seeing old...
