    m62 wrecker in Michigan

Having mired a M62, I can verify what Kenny said. Mine sank to the doors on ground I drove an 2 1/2 ton 6x6 across without breaking through the grass. Don't try to make it run over about 50, and keep in mind that it will take a WAYS to stop it. All this being said, I've never hooked to...

New memebr, first day with M37, questions

The earliest M37 trucks had a large fuel filter with cleanable brass element attached to the bracket holding the voltage regulator. Later trucks had an in-tank fuel filter. However, since the truck has been converted to 12 volt and an electric fuel pump added - other changes in the fuel system...

    Our tax dollars at work....

Was purusing some trucks listed by GL near me (I'm in Tennessee). Incredibly, one of the trucks is plainly and neatly stencilled recruiting for the New Jersey National Guard. Ya' know, there is also a GL site Lakehurst NEW JERSEY. I'm pretty sure this wasn't GL's idea to transport them down...

    correct manual help needed

If anyone has a copy of TM9-2320-235-20 take a look and see what it says. I can't find mine now. This is the -20 for the M35A1. HTH, David Doyle

    Korean Dueces

Re: RE: More With Soldiers I don't know about that one way or the other - but I've got pix of a K-J assembly line building deuces in Tawain in the 1970s. Personally, I think that these Tawainese built trucks are the elusive 07 series trucks. BTW - the body (cab) for most deuces (and five and...

How much did they cost new?

"Cost" is difficult to determine on military vehicles. Typically a contract will be for so many vehicles - with various equipment (winch, tires, etc) PLUS so many "sets" of spares. These "sets" of spares is a predetermined assortment of parts. However, also these contracts often specify the...

    Won't go Up Hill

RE: Won I know you said the tank was cleaned, but.... it sure sounds like the fuel is not getting to the pick up tube. A rag, leaf, trash, some sort of lining product - drifts over the pick up tube. Were it mine, I'd be inclined to put a 5 gallon can in the liquid container bracket and run a...

    Korean Dueces

I think you will find that this is exactly where many of the new (not NOS) parts being sold by dealers originate. DD

    M211 Carb rebuild problem

Is the kit NOS - if so, then the emphasis should be on OLD. IIRC, soaking the gasket in diesel or water (don't remember which) will make it expand, and perhaps solve the problem. HTH, David Doyle

M35A2C's with Winch... A rare breed?

The first four digits of the VIN stamped in the frame rail are a major clue. Post (or PM) them, and we can see what they tell us. Regards, David

    Mermite can question

Bjorn, I did an article on the Mermite back in 03 or 04 for Military Trader. I'm on the road, but you likely can get in touch with JAG and get this. Contains, IIRC, specs and TM reference. I think the nomenclature is Container, Food and Liquid, Insulated, I know the NSN is 7330-00-238-2411...

M35A2C's with Winch... A rare breed?

I've got a data base with the VINS and and reg numbers of over a thousand deuces - three are by VIN number a M35A2C with winch, one each from lot 7, 9 and 10. I may have come across more - because if I don't get both VIN AND reg number I don't record it. DD

Wisconsin allegedly cancelling Military vehicle titles.

Before someone decides that this needs to be screamed from the highest mountain top - which Tx75Pinz is NOT doing - please take the time to actually verify this with the state of Wisconsin. Not someone on another board, or someone's uncle's brother's cousin. A month or so back a similar pot...
