Gut the interior, replace fiberglass insulation with closed cell foam sheets and spray closed cell foam to fill in gaps. replace the interior walls with a thin steel or aluminum. Seal the roof with an elastomeric coating, and seal in the slideouts, removing the roof/ceiling/side panels...
.... and I wanna cry.
Basically needs an entirely new interior and new seals. I was gonna get a connex and mount it but chose against that due to insulation costs... Now it's looking like a cheaper option.
The wall is bowed in some places (water swelling wood) and rotten in others. That...

Tiny leak from valve cover, not enough to matter
Small leak from oil pressure sensor, not enough to matter.
Both the above would 'burn off before it reached the ground'.... and be so miniscule that he would be surprised if I was down even half a quart over 5k miles.."The...
My air leak was the ether fuel pressure sensor.... The diaphragm leaked..... I replaced the lines from the tank to the spin on fuel filters I added, and most of the way to the IP.....
Let it sit for 6 months, and in the cold, it cranked over after a couple revolutions.... No issues since...
I was there when the shop rebuilt it, and watched as everything had a nice coat of oil on it...
Rebuilt starter.... couple months later it stopped....went to the shop and the guy wanted to charge me for the second rebuild because it was soaked in oil and shorted out, so he said, and as...
6.2 gods, lend me your ears...
I got an oil leak...it's been leaking but since I don't drive it much I haven't delved too far into it. We are talking a quart every 100 or so miles. Enough that it's idling there will be a couple drops in 5 mins or so. The oil hasn't been changed because it's...
8Ds are less battery than stock...
Stock is 4 6TL..
6TL =
CCA @ 0F = 825 CCA
CA @ 32 F = 1010 CA
215 Mins RC @ 25 Amps
and they're in series/parallel so 24V instead of 12V and 2020 CA and 1650 CCA and 430 RC
8D = 1720 CA and 1400 CCA and 430 RC
So, you actually have less CA/CCA going...
Replaced an air line.
Removed the eight layers of paint, come to find out the air lines are original. Rear emergency glad hand valve is stuck closed... Better than stuck open... But it needs to be replaced.
These engines vibrate like no tomorrow.
I had a coolant leak, turned out the power steering AND water pump had bolts that walked out.....
Previously, ALL the bolts had walked out of my power steering pump, and it was held in by the belt.....
Gutted a lot of the ceiling in the 934...and removed the vent ducts.... Water penetration, and saturated fiberglass insulation is no bueno. Gotta seal the roof, then replace all the insulation with foam....should be fun. I can raise the ceiling height by a couple inches by mounting the ceiling...
Only been taking it out a couple days a year.... That will change this year.
I'm focusing more time and money on it to convert to an RV. I have a rough plan, that I'm sure will change.
So far, only minor issues related to rubber and age..... I neglected the batts so that's my fault... ether...
