Thanks for location info! I'll have to check that out, sounds like it could lead to a headache if not maintained.
Well, that's an unexpected outcome  It could be like you said, just the cold winter temps keeping it down, and it not being warmed up by the radiator. Just wouldn't have...
Great! Thanks! [thumbzup]
Yeah I like the sockets better than just using spades. More contained and the connections are more secure.
Thanks for all the help guys, I'll post my results when I get this done sometime over the next few weeks.
Now that I have heard it explained, seen how it is installed, and know what I am looking for, I think this is the way to go after all. It is less cost, seems easier to do, and if a relay ever goes bad, easy to fix. Thanks for the Help Guys! [thumbzup][thumbzup][thumbzup]
Nice looking unit!
Humm... didn't know about the surge current. Doesn't sound like the controller I found will work then, as it is only 20 amps total, which is only 8 amps more than required power.
Yes, 24v stuff seems to be $$$! The converter that I was looking at was just under $150...
Hummm.... I will already have a 12 volt power supply with the 12v Alt/Battery system... That's actually a pretty simple setup. Not to sure about how to incorporate a brake controller, but it shouldn't be too hard.
Happen to remember what # of relay that you used? Or does it just have to be...
(warning: long post...)
Hi, I don't mean to resurrect an old thread, but at the same time I don't want to start a new thread for the same subject.
I have also been searching and reading up on being able to pull a civy trailer with an A3 Deuce. I have read the cheapest way is to change the 12v...
Just posted a few more updates to the filter list in my OP (Original Post). I found the Air Filter Number and the Air Drier Kit Numbers. If anyone reads the A3 Filter List, and finds that I have forgotten a filter, please post a reply. Thanks!
Rustygears stated in another thread that the Napa Internal Transmission # was ATP14959. So far this has been the only part number that I have found the internal transmission filter.
Is that the correct # or ???
Do you have an Allison or other Brand #?
Here is the SS thread in which I found...
Just posted an update to my OP (Original Post), with all the best/original filter numbers that I have found so far. Not sure what the best or original Internal Transmission number is though, only found a Napa number.
I posted this because there does not seem to be a full filter list anywhere on...
Your questions is right on subject, and I'm looking forward to seeing if anyone has an answer for this.
I'm going put my 2cents in, on what little I have read and heard so far. I believe under a "regular" insurance policy, and not a "collector" policy, a deuce will be classified by most...
Hey MooresM35A2, I agree with you! I would rather pay a few more $ for a good filter, than to just get by with a cheap one. I'm buying all Cats filters. Do you happen to know if CAT makes Air filters? Or do they use another company?
I've looked all through the pdf TM's (i really need paper...
Hope you refilled your transmission before you drove it :lol:rofl:lol:  j/k!
Hummm... Have to look into the "transmission vent" info, as I haven't read anything about that yet. Have to find the info and be sure to check that while I'm at it. Thanks for the Tip [thumbzup]
And I'm...
A Push Pull pump would be a handy thing to have to move the fluid from the bucket to the funnel. Thanks for the Tip! Adding that to my "stuff to get" list :)
Yes You Are 100% correct! The truck does have to be driven some between flushes to make sure that all the oil is being circulated into the system and not trapped somewhere in the transmission.
Thanks for the tip reminder on the funnel, have to write that down on my "stuff to pickup" list. If I...
Hi Rusty! Instead of just draining the fluid, which basically only takes about half of your trans fluid at a time. One type of the Transmission Flushing Machines, requires that you take apart a connection on one of your cooling lines, and you connect two hoses to that line, one for in and one...
That is what I have read many people saying as to the reason why they are changing the fluid to over. Every post and comment I've seen has all been stating good improvements, so thats why I decided to do the same.
Thanks for the personal experience review Steve! [thumbzup]
Thanks for the info, that gives me a better idea of on the transmission. And I'll remember the tips on the fuel filter too. Have to get a good strap wrench, as I don't think I have one at the moment, or at least one that works. I'll also take a look and clean the check valve, didn't know about...
Hi... Its me again.
Ok, I am planning on doing a full service tune up and maintenance work to the A3, once I get it here. I am purchasing two of all the filters, one to put on the truck and one to keep as a spare.
Since I have always been one to use the best filters for any vehicle I have...
