A Henderson walking beam would be simple and easy, you would have a choice of rubber blocks or springs. The early 915's used Henderson suspension with springs but running empty you could have fooled me, didn't feel like anything was going up and down even with weight
there is a reason you don't see that set up your talking about on commercial trucks or trailers. you could switch to an airride but you would need leveling valves or when one wheel hit a bump it would pull the other off the ground.
The cat part number is 207-1516 you can buy directly from your cat dealer and its a standard 3116 starter that would be used on a 3116 in a loader excavator or dozer.
My cat starter was not gear reduction but built much more robust than the prestolite starter I kept bending the starter drive fork on. with 2 8d batterys it has no problem cranking over the 3116 at minus 20
That sounds to me like a spring brake can leaking to I would also check to see all airbrake lines are closed off I don't think the 5 tons have a trailer brake knob to supply trailer brakes with air. If you preform the dot air brake test you should find the leak in short order.
to me it sounds like a bad pump or torque converter but the lack of burned oil leads me to think pump also if the pump goes bat there will me no circulation through the cooler
Use of starting fluid on your old onan generator or b series cummins in your pickup can be bad for you and your motor. those engines use an intake heater to help cold weather starting. the duce uses a flame heater one should use caution when spraying starting fluid in a duce some one has been...
5606 is quite a bit thinner than aw 32 it should work but maybe slower hyguard has friction modifiers in it fro wet disc clutches that might affect the seals like hdo and atf does. stereight hydraulic oil would be the only alternative oil I would use not tractor oil.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with the a-0 models. I own one I have worked on a few and the warrant officer I worked with on deployment said the a-0 was the better truck for reliability. The problem with the non electronic motor is finding some one old enough to know how to diagnose and...
for the ether debate in a pre cup glow plug engine its not a good idea but can be used in a pinch, if used sparingly. if you have an intake heater or heater plugs the results can be impressive and dangerous, the intake can explode like a grenade. usually it just blows off the air cleaner and...
i've known a lot of tire guys torque the same with antisize as with out. when using the cat manual for replacing heads they. require wet torque with a cat specific lubricant but the manual cautions not to use antisize. It did not say why I would guess its lubricating property's aren't uniform...
the primary filter housing has an air leak. usually from the primer bulb. my buddy at the cat dealer said the best thing I could do was replace that housing with a non primer housing than add a cat primer pump.
a 24 volt purge heater can be aquired pretty reasonably for the ad-9 I have one for my lmtv but haven't got around to replacing it yet the decedent cartages are pretty spendy, but it is still the go to air dryer up here in the north for tractor trailer rigs
