I have the head hanging from the chain fall over the block ready to install, going to triple check all the gaskets, this will allow me to lower it in place easy. Installed the rest of the brake assemblies on the hubs, just need to order a new master cylinder now. Found all the parts to a full...
Cleaned and primed the valve cover, installed the air cleaner gage line, replaced the clutch/brake pedal return springs and managed not to hurt myself today.
I have done a lot of this type of work and you are money ahead if you take it to where they blast large items. It takes a lot of air to blast, if you do get a blaster rent a tow behind compressor. The hobby blasters and home air compressors will take a very long time.
Spent a good part of the day installing the two front brake hoses. Started on the passenger side, that was not too bad. The stacked clips that hold the steel lines were both rusted off, those were a bit tricky. Now to the drivers side, I didn't know the lines were in back of the arm jammed in...
I bought some 8' 1 1/2 assembled straps I found NOS on the E and I am going to cut them to length for the battery cover and fuel can. I only had one battery cover and it was shot, at $8 each they were a bargain.
Received a few parts, NOS battery covers, transfer dipstick, fuel tank gasket, battery terminals, grommet for slave cable and a pair of brake flex hoses. Going to try and install the head on the engine this weekend and replace the front brake flex lines.
Yes, there should be holes for the tail lights, and not all had a socket for the trailer, don't recall when they added it. Picture of what should be in the back.
OK, so I found a post here to remove the delivery valve assy and tap the port with a brass punch, did that and fuel shot out like mad when I spun the engine. It also said be sure not to loose the valve spacer. Well I did not loose it but it's rubbery and oversized and won't go back in. Any...
So I dug out a pair of MEP003a's from storage that have been sitting out for quite a while, trying to get one running while I repair my other set. Did the usual fuel system clean out, new filters etc. I have fuel at the injector pump but none being sent to the injector lines. I checked to...
I did disconnect T2 in the top cubicle to get my readings and they were spot on according to the TM. I did notice that the top portion of CVT1 has several cracks in the plastic. The CVT, outer is not cracked, it doesn't look like much fun to get that thing out.
I found the thread with the...
I looked over the CVT1 and I don't see where the terminals are marked so I can test it. Is CVT1 the T1 transformer in the top cubicle or is that the one in the bottom with the wire looped through it?
Gen set worked in the AM, started in the PM and voltage went high, 160v AC but still rock solid 60Hz. It's been running my off grid home for several weeks while my primary set is being repaired. Swapped out the voltage regulator in another set and that tests out fine. Any suggestions what to...
I appreciate the positive feedback, however on this end it seems as though time is against me. I'm trying to get it rolling for the Weare NH military vehicle show at the end of July. So many unknowns, will the engine run, does the transmission work, diffs work etc etc. Living in the North...
