If it were my money and I used the truck as you describe, I'd get a winch. That and quality tires should get you deep in the weeds and back home. Powr lock is a 4 spider version of a Trac Lock.

That could be done as well. At that point I'd keep the M1028A2/3 as long as it was a solid truck. I have a thing for the chassis cab rears. While its still a dually, not a dually truck but all I have here is the SECM which already has one and the ambulance which, if it doesn't sell, will get one!

A decent one will set you back $7500. Basket cases usually sell quick at $3000. Problem is that there aren't many to choose from. If I were to set out to build a CUCV pickup into a dually, I'd start with front rotors. There are any folks in the 4x4 world willing to trade rotors/hubs. Likely...

Have you priced an M1028A2 or M1028A3? Awful lot of money to do a swap. I did my shop truck in my avatar for around $250. $150 for front rotors and $100 for the chassis cab rear. Swapped over the Detroit NoSPIN.

Paint piercing washers are a plus too.

We used to buy M105 trailers in the $90 to $150 range all the time. Went to a sale at MCLB Albany one time and 75% of the depot overhauled 105s went for the minimum bid of $90. There were several hundred.

I think I'm in a similar situation. I suspected glow plugs since my system was feeding them power. I replaced 7 (#8 might break, I'll fix it later). Still takes quite a bit of cranking and it shouldn't. Replacing my fuel filter assy with one of the Stand yes Gimpy was selling. Hoping for the best.

It's more likely from the public flogging. I hope they make this right and learn from it.
