Last year I took my m35a2 towing a camper on a 1800 mile trip from Maryland to yellow stone park, had no problems .had plenty of tools and spares along, only used them to help others out. Better them than me ,go over everything good and you should be fine.

My two cents .you need the intank pump to prime the booster pump witch can not prime itself. You said it ran fine on a temp supply when you elevated it ,that’s because it primed the booster pump. Now the truck will run with failed intank pump if the system is primed and doesn’t loose it , but...
You really need to jack her off the ground and spin the wheels by hand the brakes should not be scrubbing the drums . If you take out the axles on one side it makes it easier to turn without jacking the hole truck at one time .

What happened to mine once was the cup in the master cylinder swelled and blocked the return port just enough for the air pack not to fully release.with truck running and with brakes stuck pull the gland hand cover on the drivers side if you get air out the pack is not released,could be back...
Clean everything good as said ,but also put some dielectric grease between all parts , on electric circuit the biggest cause of heat is a bad connection, loose or dirty will do the same

Don’t know about a Tm but all older truck used the same set up , at my shop we alway lube them with lite oil to keep pin lubed.little things like that pay off in the long run.
