    1960's M101 Wheel Bearing ?s

And while we’re at it, is it possible to just remove the center cap and inspect and repack the bearing without removing the tire? Thanks Bdgr

    1960's M101 Wheel Bearing ?s

I have a 1962 M101 and need to inspect and repack the wheel bearings. The available TMs here and elsewhere online are for the later models that use the simple bearing cup grease cap, not unlike the modern M116's or what have you. The older model has a 6 bolt cap in the middle of the spindle...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Tore off the old fiberglass repair on my cracked hood and replaced it with a more thorough repair and plenty more fiber mat. Some bondo and ultra flat paint and I think it’ll do. Not perfect but a lot better than before. Bulldogger

I expect to have a few sets of soft half doors at the Graves Mountain Rally Labor Day Weekend. Green only, and only one 4 door set due to material availability. Bulldogger

    Graves Mountain Rally August 30 - September 3, 2018

I will have my M101 loaded with HMMWV front passenger seat backs (2), a fuel transfer rig and hoses (FB4320), a tan HMMWV soft slant back, some rear vehicle/trailer lights, M101 wood sides and gates, M101 hinges (3 of 4 corners worth), a used but serviceable M101 cargo cover/tarp, a couple of...

Another ill conceived trip - 1500 miles in a HMMWV. KS to the FL/GA line

You are brave or crazy. Either way it will be interesting to follow along at home. I wouldn't want to do that drive in a Lexus, much less a HMMWV. YBBMV (Your Back and Butt May Vary) Bulldogger

    Onboard air

Sounds like an interesting setup. I saw some 2 gallon kits on eBay for not much money, but the duty cycle was too low to be useful for anything but filling a tire or two. Could you add some pictures please? Motor-driven onboard air from repurposing an AC compressor is a good manual way, but...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Fixed a bit of trail rash on the right ear door. Stitched it up and used a flexible glue to seal the seams. Zipper works fine, so I managed to keep far enough away from the edge of the zip while restoring the stitching. Lots of small stuff. The same log that reached in the window and boogered...

What did you do to your trailer today.

I flipped the lunette on my M101 so it would fit my HMMWV pintle better. Soldier B was a big help too. Bulldogger

Electrical system charging delayed starting issues m998 hummwv

It sounds like a wiring issue contributed to PCB box failure. Some folks on here have been able to repair their box, if the fault was visually obvious. I agree your alternator (generator likely) is probably OK. Glow plugs are worth replacing if you do not know how old they are, as the older...

My son (9yo) will be there yes. I know the White's (he had the little German Munga last year) will attend with their boys too. The Rock Ridge folks will attend and the granddaughter of the trailmaster (drives the black "Kermud" 4x4) will almost certainly be there. There are a couple more...

    Graves Mountain Rally August 30 - September 3, 2018

Registration papers and USPS MO sent yesterday. We're confirmed for the event. I'll bring the HMMWV, two tents (one for Betsy Bulldog to snore in alone), and my new-to-me 1962 M101 along with some milsurp goodies I've picked up to hawk at the CP. Bulldogger

It runs the gamut. Some tent camp and cook over a fire (me), some camp with generators and all-around lighting, some camp in converted utility trailers and cargo trailers, some come in mini RVs, some sleep at the Lodge with 3 meals a day prepared for them. Whatever/however you want to do it is...

    rear wheel wobble

The rear wobble that I've observed has been due to control arms and ball joints, but if you checked them maybe they're OK. The one's I observed on someone else's ride were easy to wiggle with the wheel jacked up off the ground. Good luck nailing it down. BDGR

    HMMVW roll bars

My current design wouldn't fit as-is, due to the gap between the ear leg and the rear corner. Not sure I could make a cover to fit well, bc of that gap. A piece of EMT conduit placed on the inner or outer side of each ear leg down to the back corner might make it workable. Not a lot of center...
