This guy is an awesome person who is making and supplying these panels. Check him out! https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/operator-control-gauge-cover-for-mep-802a-and-803a-88-20198-in-stock.196471/
I understand that the 400hz models can be used for resistive type loads such as heaters and incandescent lights, providing of course there are no inductive type loads in the circuits such as electric motors. Is this a true statement?
I forgot to mention, Brendan in Branson Missouri has the LT1swap.com website. He has also posted some material on the duramax. It looks like he's installed one into a 1967 C10. Pretty cool stuff.
Dude, I don't need to tell you this, but you've taken on one hell of a task. I've been reading your threads on this project. My hat is off to you for even attempting it. You're on the down-hill stretch. Don't give up now! I just finished installing a 2004 6.0L Vortech engine with a 4L80...
That was my experience last night too Guy. I could load this 10kw unit to 125% of it’s rated load on three phase with no problem. I used my amp clamp on all three legs. They were all within a couple of amps. I agree with much of the feedback that I’ve received on this topic. The grounding rods...

I’ve been researching how to make an economical way to accurately load test these awesome MEP generators. I came across a 1975 documentation from Caterpillar. It explains how to use a brine to load test generators. It got my attention enough to put it into practice. I used (3) of the grounding...
I work as a mechanic for the transit company in Seattle. Been there for 25 years now. We often have buses with dead batteries in the yard, mainly from sitting so long waiting for parts. But that's a whole other problem! I always cringe when I see other techs who will routinely jump start these...
Depending on what batteries you’re using and the state of charge that they have you may be asking too much from your alternator. Try charging your batteries before starting the machine. It is a common misconception that alternators are battery chargers. They are not. When we try to charge...
Interesting. So are you getting any power from the start button to the relay on one of the small terminals? Again, is that relay pulling in or energizing when you push the start button? What is your battery voltage reading? I know that you said you replaced it, but if there’s a draw from...
