there is a local to me Kubota GL11000 either a 10K or 11K series II generator for sale pretty cheap. the owner says he had the unit in storage no mice. and when he started it to give it a monthly run the battery light flashed and the big gen quit producing power. has anyone here any experience...
no worry! it is going to be in good shape now. some have bought at auction and been worse off. you have a good rebuild able engine and you know the rest of the set is ok.
yea who knows what was put in it. i don't think 212 hours would wear the bearings like that either and bearing wear would support the low oil pressure problem. have you pulled a main bearing for inspection? also have you disassembled and checked the oil pump for wear?
i don't think those bearings are as good as you think. "sorry" i swear i can see yellow metal in at least one. i don't think this was a pristine new engine as you think it was but no matter as it will be as new as you want to make it. i think the cam looks like it has some hours on it too but...
i want to see the vid when this thing is fixed and it is powering at 100+ percent. i am a little skeered that it might bend another push rod though. if you go back into the original thread not this one there is enough info to establish the name and business of the seller. i am not sure and am...
looks like you are on the way to a great engine. i would urge you to have the head and valve stems measured. it is obvious that a valve kissed a piston and there isn't anything to explain why.
i think you have mostly an OK engine. to bad you have to disassemble it check and reassemble but you are almost there anyway. when you are done at least you will know for sure what you have and not have to take anthers word for it.
"some other" any thing that would allow compression out of the combustion chamber and into the crankcase. does the TM specify a vacuum in inches of water column ?
i don't think the engine runs with a vacuum in the crankcase. but with the absence of blowby to cause a positive pressure the displacement of the pistons moving will cause a temporary sucking movement through the small dipstick opening. if you put paper there and experience this movement is...
so much for the master diesel mechanic. i would suspect everything he touched. a complete disassembly and check is in order while you still have something to work with.
is there anything obviously wrong with the lifter? i think you would be wise to replace the lifter pushrod rocker and have the valve checked or replaced. if the valve drops it will ruin the engine. sorry this hasn't worked out to be as simple a fix as it could be but you are lucky the only...
