    Fuel in oil LDS4651A

Westex, where did you have your injectors tested, and how much did it cost? Thanks, Scott

What transmission does my 1009 have?

TexAndy, if this turns out to be a 700R4, I would like to talk to you about buying it. I disagree with jbingvtx, I think the 700s are very good transmissions. They got a bad reputation because of the early models, which were poorly designed. If you have a later model (1987 to 1989), these have...

    Rear Axle Trouble

If it is the axle bearing, that is not hard to change. The rear-end bearings are a little harder. Scott

    New Guy From Texas

Welcome to the site. As far as using your deuce, to me it is like owning a gun-you don't need a reason. I bought mine because it is fun to drive. If there is a local MVPA chapter close to you, talk to them about any activities they participate in. Our chapter (Lone Star MVPA-Austin) participates...

1982 chevy diesel man xmission donor

Those Chevrolets used a mechanical linkage to actuate the clutch, not a cable. The pivot points can wear out, so some maintenence is required, even on the mechanical clutch linkage. Scott

The Texas Independance Day parade is March 6th. Otherwise, I'm open. Scott

    Electrics going bonkers

The biggest problem with the coolant level sensor is corrosion at the connection on the radiator. Clean that, and if it still doesn't work, it's probably the sensor. Scott

Recent recovery adventures or EUC's approved, finally.

I want one of those 1061's bad, just not bad enough to pay current prices. Scott

Liberty Hill Texas Christmas parade video

The music is "the Ride of the Valkyries", by whom, I don't know. Famous old orchestral arrangement. Opera, maybe? Scott

The shot of the back of my truck shows my wife, my grandson, and 3 of my nieces. Scott

    Blinker problem

Inside the control are several sets of contacts. The copper corrodes over time. Sometimes you can clean the corrosion off with contact cleaner, or a fingernail file. Scott

    got a flat

Crackerjax, are you talking about foam-filled, like constuction equipment? If so, I can't imagine how rough the ride would be. Those things are not much better than a solid rubber tire. Scott

Katrina Deuce Story - MUST READ

    I. also, had tea with Sarge yesterday. I am relatively new to all this, having had my MV less than a year. I knew the story about Katrina already, but I did not know Sarge had lost a son. Crying in front of your computer is not a good way to start a Monday, but I couldn't help it. As a parent, I...

    Hooks M105A3 recovery

I have pulled 2 M105-A2s with my 3/4 ton diesel Chevy, with no problems. As Pawnshop said, bring a high-lift jack, to put the lunette on your hitch. Otherwise, it's like towing a utility trailer. I would be cautious about trying this with a 1/2 ton truck, as they usually have lighter duty...

    do I want a cucv

Welcome to the site. Some of the bad rap on GM diesels was their first attempt, a converted Oldsmobile, which was an abysmal failure. Some people get these confused with the 6.2/6.5 liter family. The 6.2 liter diesel is a good, reliable, low horsepower engine. If abused, such as over-revving...

    Central Texas members, need help

I was preparing to give you my cell number, but it looks like you've got it under control. Oh, well, if you need anything else, let us know. Scott

    Hooks M105A3 recovery

Nonotagain, I hadn't counted on the Army having a trailer with surge brakes, and no lockout mechanism, so I didn't have a C-clamp. I just drove "around the block" until I got where I was going. Scott

    Hooks M105A3 recovery

The A2 will fit between 7 foot fenders, the A3 requires 7 1/2 feet.
