Yeah Josh, I've still got that M88 APU. Also have a Kubota V2203 and am not sure which one I'm going to use to make a skid-mounted power supply unit for a mobile workshop. Been collecting parts for a while and so far I've got a really nice twin screw air compressor and complete generator setup...
Do they have ribs for the tire beads to seat on? Haven't taken any of my MRAP or 5-ton wheels apart yet, but most multi-piece beadlock wheels I've seen rely on some kind of inserts to keep the tire beads seated.
In answer to similar questions I asked, was told that it is possible to remove the PTO unit with the transmission in place, just really tight (obviously). Haven't gotten around to it, so can't speak from experience.
Good info. Thanks. Likely that we'll end up replacing the axles on 1-2 of our trailers with 6-lug civilian axles to match tow vehicles, so we'll have a few extra axles to fool around with. Shouldn't be too difficult, but I'll be watching to see how this goes. Thanks for sharing.
2.5" narrower track-width in the rear? I'd run it! But making custom hubs for a rockwell axle would be super easy if you're determined to go down that route...
Planning on doing this to one of my M116A3 trailers that I put an M1031 box on so HMMWV wheels/tires will tuck up into the wheelwells. Going to look into swapping an A2 axle first. Anybody know offhand what the difference in track-width is?
Just finished swapping over all the tractor-specific airbrake stuff from three M931A2's onto hightop M923A2's. First one took awhile, but it's really not that difficult. Working on the rest of the tractor conversions.
Pulled the beds off two of our hightop M923A2's and got a 5th wheel plate from an M931A2 mounted on one of them already. Need to finish trimming-up the framerails and reinstall the read crossmember, then we can start working on converting the second truck. Also bought another A2 wrecker, so it's...
Ah, right. Thanks. Will have to look into that to see what its going to take to adapt one of those flywheels to this engine. Can I have one balanced to match the other so I won't have to disassemble the engine to have everything re-balanced?
Wondering which combination of parts would work best in this custom CUCV behind a turbo 6.2L. Just picked up a 3053 and I've got a divorced NP205 to put behind it.
Just picked up a 3053 that came out of a multifuel deuce. What's the easiest way to figure out for sure which gears are in it? Plan is to put it behind a turbo 6.2L in a CUCV.
