I'm picking up an M1082 (LMTV trailer) for agazza from Ft Hood next week, and I'm one of those folks who likes to read the manual before I move anything.
Does anyone have the manual in PDF?
TM-9-2330-394-13-P (there may be 2 parts)
I have tried the net, but so far all I can find are...
I don't even have a trailer! Don't know if agazza would appreciate me experimenting on his. :)
I tried to find a copy of the trailer manual, no luck except the "pay me an exorbitant fee" sites. I'll keep looking.
No, those seats are reserved for you, I wouldn't snake them from you.
Cheers
You can come to my place and drool over it! :-P
agazza2, does it have it's own light cable, or just use the intervehicular connector on the front of the bed? I've never looked at one in detail, but going by the pictures.
Either is fine, I have cables in standard length, and a couple of...
I'll be picking it up from Ft Hood for agazza2, and storing it at my place (and yes, probably drooling on it some) until he can get it a ride west.
Cheers
Yes, I have seen quite a few that were engraved rather than stamped. On my HSTRU trailer box the entire plate filled in with an electric pencil, except the serial number which is stamped.

Swbradley pretty much summed it up.
The vehicle I most enjoy the fact that I'm driving it, is the V100.
The vehicle that I most enjoy the actual driving of is the M813. I just love driving that thing.
Cheers
The very first ones we got in the Marines (mid-late '85?) were 383 woodland camo. MERDC was already out for new vehicles at that point. Other vehicles (eg. 939 series trucks and CUCVs) started being delivered to us in 383 camo in 1984.
Cheers
I'm still in for the recovery run home. I have my Maggie Simpson steering wheel ready to go. :driver::driver:
And I still work for Waffle House food. Or are we picking a different chow hall theme for the LMTV, since it isn't yellow?
(For those who don't know, Waffle House is a running gag...
Dave, if you are not in a big hurry, my son and I are going to go to Indiana to pick up a military trailer in two or three months. We'll be hauling an empty trailer on the trip up.
Looks like going via KC would only add about 100 miles to the trip, from the original route I had planned...
Check this hose, it is what MuleMac is referring to. Even small cracks can have a big effect on how the engine runs.
Even if it doesn't look cracked, it can't hurt to replace it anyway, they are cheap on ebay and from the Mule dealers.

Well, you definitely let it idle long enough for the temperatures to stabilize. ;)
I must add a word of caution about sitting in idling vehicles - Never sit in one with all the windows closed, carbon monoxide can build up inside and do you in. Leave the windows open just enough to get some...
Rapco is excellent paint. I have used it on all my vehicles for many years. The biggest advantage I see is that the spray cans and gallons are the same paint, so always match. Nice for touch ups later. It necessitates some care in using the cans, since the paint is high particulate, but...
The oak pollen is so bad this year, I heard the tweakers were turning their speed back into Sudafed...
Nice truck. Tarp needs a patch.
It is nicer than the one I found you. ;)
Cheers
383 refers to the actual camo scheme for the green/black/brown. The green used is FS 34094, the brown 30051. When you see something referred to as "383 green" they mean 34094.
1975 saw the introduction military-wide of the MERDEC 4-colour camo schemes. Ft Hood, Texas, had most of their...
I'll admit to "never", prior to this one. I did work some lube into it before installation.
In my defense though, the reason it never occurred to me to lube them was because I can go to a scrap 1966 truck and take out a 50 year old pedal and have it work like new. No one I know has ever had...
Partially so you can do what those Marines are doing, and partially so you can lower the overall height of the truck for shipment. That's also why there are joints in the intake and exhaust pipes at about the same level. It looks like the mushroom is on the lowered air intake behind the driver...
