Check this out. I think it will work.
Just as I was typing the last input I looked out and it was a total white out here. I recalled 6 years ago when the snow squall hit 5 miles from my home on I78. February 13, 2016, I was outside stacking firewood and loading my trucks up when I heard sirens and helicopters coming from all...
Thursday, I received a call from a friend that sold one of his CUCV M1009's. The buyer showed up with a tow dolly and could not fit the wheels on the dolly. He asked if I would be interested in tow barring the CUCV to Virginia for the buyer. He would pay me. I agreed and this morning at 0600 I...
The secret of the engine of a CUCV and no one was able to fix it, so they hired a mechanical engineer with more than 35 years of experience.
He carefully inspected the engine from top to bottom. Having seen everything, the engineer lowered the bag and pulled out a small hammer.
Gently hit the...

Never give up. etrailer.com has everything you need to rebuild the trailer jack on the M1102. Even the little tin cover for the top. I searched aimlessly using the NSN and came up against not finding the parts I needed. Live...
And with all the C clip bashing I wanted to point out the clip rear axles were used in every GM rear wheel drive police car and all the Ford CVPI police cars had the same design. These vehicles are famous for 400-600K service life in the taxi business. The later model Ford C clip design had a...
I bought this M1102 2 weeks ago. I changed the brake fluid and removed the pintle ring to grease and service the brake system. The breakaway lever was a bit rusty and the cable was frayed. I ordered a new breakaway lever and cable assembly from etrailer.com along with the spring clip. I...
I drove 10 bolt axles in Chevrolet trucks and K5 Blazers all my life. I used them long and hard. I had 1 fail because I did not replace the lock bolt. My fault. It was a Sunday evening, late, and I was just tired and didn't have a new bolt. I used blue lock tight and reassembled it quickly. I...
I am currently having title issues with my M1102 trailer. It seems Iron Planet sold the trailer, and the original buyer never transferred the SF97 into a title and the trailer has exchanged hands several times since that. I am working on that. I also bought a Bulldog trailer jack on Facebook...
The M1009 axle SAGA continues. I was just recollecting with my co driver about the great dirt bike chase at FITG in the M1009. I actually bent the rear axle housing in a slight U. The spines broke in the inner axle like a pencil. I hope to find pictures of that axle housing. My Son's broke many...

Just as good as new. And better for rusty used ones. Just saying short of kinking in a 180* this bends like clay. Maybe they don't have a double flare tool. They need one anyway. Old vehicle ownership requires special skills and tools. That is why I buy...
Just let the old brake lines attached to the axle and make new ones. I am sure if they have to be soaked, they are scrap anyway. Get the new brake hose from frame to axle and form new metal lines from 3/16" tubing. Let me know. I am in Jonestown PA 17038.
I thought of doing this to a friend to see if he was paying attention. The inner tubes on the tailpipes were a great joke. My Son's did that to my M1009. It was funny the sounds it made.
I have a brand-new complete M1009 rear axle in the crate. I am in Pennsylvania. I also have a complete front axle brand new in the crate for the M1009. Shipping is possible.
Today I had plans to work on my trailer outside while it was 45*. That did not happen. I had enough of the mud in my driveway. I started the rock crusher and crushed a couple tons of stone, block, and bricks. The battery was frozen in the battery box. Or should I say it was kept on ice. It...
9449 National seal Remove driveshaft. Is the yoke leaking? It may be the yoke and not the seal. Transfer case stays in place. Any u joints that are made to fit the application are good U joints. Best is the type that are permanently greased. It makes it stronger because it is not hollowed out...
